It appears that we've been receiving persistent calls from these individuals on our number, which was previously unlisted. The moment our answering machine picks up, they simply hang up! It's become quite bothersome, as they keep calling without fail. It’s high time action is taken against such annoying disturbances. I've already submitted a complaint to the Telephone Preference Service to address this issue.

A very polite individual reached out, claiming to be with Kandar, conducting a survey on internet service providers. I politely asked them to refrain from calling again. When I inquired about how they obtained our number, as it's supposed to be ex-directory, they responded that they utilise a random dialling system, which I found rather peculiar. If they happen to ring again, I'll certainly be far from pleased!

Chilly phone calls on a Saturday morning. I reckon I'll pop round for a chat, as we think it might be worth it.

I recently received a call from this number and when I asked the chap which company he represented, he mentioned it was "Kantar Operations, Hull". He went on to say that his manager was a Lyn Sterling, and provided the contact number 0500 090 243, in case anyone else felt inclined to lodge a complaint (although I suspect it might be an exercise in futility!). Perhaps the Telephone Preference Service ought to step in and put a stop to their antics?

Constantly getting calls from this number without so much as a message left behind. They seem to ring any time of day or night, even at the weekends! It's happening quite a few times daily, and honestly, it's just so annoying. Who even are Kandar Operations?

Received a call from these individuals who claimed they make calls to national hotline groups and then dial up random numbers. They insisted that since they weren't peddling any products or services, they had the liberty to do so. Quite a peculiar approach, if you ask me!

We've been receiving calls from this number on my unlisted phone, and when we finally answered, there was a peculiar noise on the line, almost as if someone was on the other side. Yet, the moment we said "hello?" they abruptly hung up. Quite odd, really!

This evening (Sunday, 29 February 2011), we received a call but couldn’t pick it up, and there was no voicemail left. We were curious about who the caller might be since the number was unfamiliar. A quick check with 1471 revealed the number: 02084336087. I must say, this website has been incredibly helpful in shedding light on the nature and purpose of such calls. It was quite surprising to discover these sorts of practices were actually happening! However, being better informed now puts us in a stronger position. Many thanks for providing this service!

"I must say, the first response was completely off the mark. The moment these individuals called us, we were polite enough to ask them to refrain from contacting us again. That was two days back. Yet, here we are, being disturbed by their calls almost every day, and sometimes even multiple times within the same week. Quite persistent, I must add!"

A polite caller reached out, claiming to represent Kandar regarding market research. She mentioned that various ISPs had asked them not to make further calls. When I inquired about how they obtained our number, she explained it was from an old list they had. The whole idea of random dialing seems quite bizarre to me. I made it clear that if they keep calling, it won’t be appreciated.

We’re not listed in the directory and we’re on the Telephone Preference Service. Oddly enough, we received a call round 10:40 in the morning on Saturday. I decided to call them back, and they claimed to be a market research company. Apparently, because they’re not pushing any products, they can legally contact us. They mentioned something about inputting a region code into their system, which then randomly produces numbers to call-hence why I ended up with their ring. I’m a bit sceptical though; not sure whether to take their word for it!

Absolutely right! I've been employed by Kantar operations in the past, and I can confirm that their approach involves using specific area codes alongside randomly generated numbers plucked from a database. If you’d rather not partake in their surveys, simply inform them that you’re not keen on joining in, and they typically won’t hassle you any further. However, if you hang up on them, be prepared for a follow-up call, as they'll most likely ring again.

I've been getting calls from this number quite regularly, a couple of times each day, in fact. It appears they usually follow an international call. We've not answered, as we're unfamiliar with the callers, and it gives us an uneasy feeling that something dodgy is afoot!
