This number calls me about 3 times daily, I picked up once and a bloke with very poor English said something about motor legal stuff, but it was hard to catch. I ended the call quick, my car insurer never calls, we only use emails. I blocked the number but they keep ringing from a similar number with just the last digit changed. I just don’t bother answering now. No harm done if you simply don’t pick up.

Had a bloke ring me earlier today asking specifically for the directors of the company by their full names. I’m guessing he’s been digging around on the Companies House site to get info like that. When I asked which website he was from, he gave me a link that’s clearly just a site being built, not live. He was pretty stubborn, kept throwing out names of government ministers saying they’d done surveys for them. If that was true, why are they bothering to cold call people? I’m pretty sure cold calling like this ain’t allowed nowadays anyway... definitely felt like a scam to me.

This number belongs to Kantar Surveys. It’s a call centre that runs various surveys all year round. Right now, they’re doing ones about Business Growth and government aid, among other topics. I was tied up initially so they kept ringing every half hour, which was pretty annoying. Ended up doing the survey just to make the calls stop! The lady I spoke with was really nice, but the survey itself took about 15 minutes to complete!

Some guy rang saying he was from the Energy Department and wanted to chat to HR about some stuff. I asked why HR would be involved with Energy and he started going all vague, saying he was from the Government and needed to ask about employee policy changes. I told him HR wouldn't be interested and he actually said, "They won’t take a call from the Government?!" trying to scare me into passing the call on. What a muppet. Got a letter from Kantar asking me to take part in some survey for the DWP. Not really interested since the DWP wouldn’t care less about anyone, in my experience. The number they gave was 02084336064.

I got a call from a posh sounding woman with a British accent, wanting to speak to whoever deals with HMRC stuff. I told her they’ll be back later today, so I’m waiting to find out more. Meanwhile, I looked up the number online and found quite a few people complaining about it.

A bloke rang saying he was carrying out a survey for the DWP. He wanted to chat with my 86-year-old mum. When I said she's hard of hearing, he just said he’d ring back next week and then hung up.

Got a call from someone saying they were from Kantar Public about some tribunal, kept asking for HR. They don't pick up 0208 numbers, so fingers crossed they've just wasted their time leaving a message that no one will get back to. The woman was trying really hard to sound all official.

I just called my work and told them my company name twice, but the woman said 'hello' three times and then cut me off. Feels like they might be after personal numbers, not business ones.

They kept ringing me two times a day for about 2 months. I answered once but they just ended the call right away. Haven’t answered any calls from them since and I blocked the number yesterday.

I put this number on block last week, but even then it’s managed to ring me like 10 times over three days. I can still see who’s calling even if blocked. Surely they’d take a hint and stop wasting their time with me?

Got a call from some lady just now, sounded like there were loads of others chatting in the background, maybe all reading off the same script or something. I told her I was tied up and ended the call. Felt a bit fishy, so I'm defo blocking that number.

Got a call from a woman claiming she was ringing from HMRC. When I questioned her, she switched up and said her company, Kantar Public Ltd, had been hired by HMRC to carry out some work. She was after the official company details but couldn’t give any director names. She said she’d ring back soon to show proof that her company was legit and appointed by HMRC... but I cut her off before she could feed me more rubbish and hung up.

This number called me again, this time at 7.55 in the evening! Sadly, my husband, who’s not feeling too great, answered the phone and couldn’t make out what the lady was trying to say at all.

I’ve had about three calls in the past couple of weeks from people saying they’re doing a survey for HMRC. There was also a few from a 0191 number. I told them to stop bothering me.

Really happy I found these comments, this number has rung me 3 times. First was late Saturday arvo, second time was about 9pm and just now at nearly 8pm on Friday night. I never picked up or even declined, guessing they knew I was onto them but gonna block it for good now.

Got a call on my work phone just now. Someone asked for the financial director and said they were from HMRC, wanting to run a survey about improving their services. Looks like this isn’t the first time they’ve made this kind of call.

Some one said they were from HMRC wanting to talk to the financial director. I told them straight away they werent HMRC and showed them it was a known nuisance caller number.

I use BT Call Guardian on my phones, so they don’t ring straight away, but the number of the incoming call does get logged. Anyone not in my Contacts has to say who they are, then the phone rings, and I get asked if I want to answer. Since I started using these, none of the annoying calls get through the Call Guardian - it’s proper peace and quiet, honestly brilliant.

Got a call for my daughter but I answered, it was a girl with an Asian accent. Asked for a number to call back and she said "we don't have one". She was talking soooo fast and sounded really anxious, then just ended the call. I’ve blocked the number now. Glad I looked it up here coz loads of folks seem to have had the same weird call. Thanks!

Got a call from this number at 12:30 on Saturday but wasn’t home. Cheers to everyone for the tips, I tried 1471 to find out who it was. I’m signed up to the Telephone Preference Service but it doesn’t seem to help much. I’ve just moved and got a new phone number, yet I’m still getting loads of calls like this from all sorts. I’ve got one of those ACME whistle blockers - sounds awful through my headset! They’d better watch themselves!

I got a call about some 'apprenticeship I supposedly completed' and then they started asking weird stuff about who lives at my place and all that. Seriously, what the heck?

Got a call supposedly needing to discuss an ongoing industrial tribunal involving an employee who just quit. When I asked who it was, they refused to say and wanted to talk to the office manager. I told them to send a letter instead as we have no tribunal happening! They claimed to be from Kantar Public - a TJ Patel.

Even though I’ve blocked this number on my landline, it keeps buzzing me every day. I never pick up, but honestly, it’s really starting to annoy me. I can’t figure out how it’s still able to ring through when it’s supposed to be blocked.

Someone called claiming to be from DEFRA about labelling stuff. Looked pretty legit at first, but then she asked for a name that wasn't mine and couldn’t say where she was ringing from. Bit dodgy if you ask me!

Funny thing is, I gave my mobile number on a tax form recently, so I guess it could be them... but I'm not so sure. Saw some folks mentioned replying to the calls and they were talking about HM Customs or something like that. Very weird!
