This number calls me about 3 times daily, I picked up once and a bloke with very poor English said something about motor legal stuff, but it was hard to catch. I ended the call quick, my car insurer never calls, we only use emails. I blocked the number but they keep ringing from a similar number with just the last digit changed. I just don’t bother answering now. No harm done if you simply don’t pick up.

A chap rang me earlier today, inquiring about the names of company directors. It appears they might be gleaning information from Companies House. When I requested the website they claimed to operate, they provided an address that’s apparently not yet up and running. This bloke was exceedingly insistent, repeatedly mentioning government ministers as if he had conducted various surveys on their behalf. If they’d truly carried out those surveys, wouldn’t they have better methods than cold calling? I was under the impression that such tactics were against the law nowadays. Sounds like a scam to me!

This number belongs to Kantar Surveys. It’s a call centre that runs various surveys all year round. Right now, they’re doing ones about Business Growth and government aid, among other topics. I was tied up initially so they kept ringing every half hour, which was pretty annoying. Ended up doing the survey just to make the calls stop! Some guy rang saying he was from the Energy Department and wanted to chat to HR about some stuff. I asked why HR would be involved with Energy and he started going all vague, saying he was from the Government and needed to ask about employee policy changes. I recently received a call from a woman, and I must say, it's disheartening to see such deceitful tactics at play. There are countless individuals who might be more susceptible to these scams and could easily fall prey to her tricks. Definitely blocking this number!

Got a call from someone claiming to be doing a survey for the DWP and wanted to chat to my 88 year old mother-in-law. When I told them she’s sadly passed away and I wasn’t interested in any surveys, they just ended the call. Not impressed.

I recently received a call from a rather eloquent lady with a lovely English accent inquiring about the individual who deals with HMRC matters. I mentioned that they’d return later today, so I’m quite curious to see what transpires! In the meantime, I took the liberty of doing a bit of detective work online and found a multitude of complaints associated with this number.

A bloke rang saying he was carrying out a survey for the DWP. He wanted to chat with my 86-year-old mum. When I said she's hard of hearing, he just said he’d ring back next week and then hung up.

Got a call from someone saying they were from Kantar Public about some tribunal, kept asking for HR. They don't pick up 0208 numbers, so fingers crossed they've just wasted their time leaving a message that no one will get back to. The woman was trying really hard to sound all official.

I’ve just had a phone call from a lady, and it sounded like there was quite a ruckus in the background, as if she was in a room full of people making calls. I had to cut her off as I was tied up with something else. It all felt a bit suspect, to be honest. I'm going to block the number.

I received a phone call from a woman who claimed she represented HMRC. When I pushed her a bit, she suddenly claimed that her organisation, Kantar Public Ltd, had been engaged by HMRC to manage their business affairs. It was odd, as she asked to speak with the registered company but didn't provide any names of the directors. She assured me that she'd ring back later to substantiate her claims about her firm's legitimacy with HMRC. However, I decided to cut her off before she could spin any further tales and terminated the conversation.

Once more, I received a call from this number - this time, it was at precisely 7.55 in the evening! Regrettably, my dear husband, who is currently under the weather, answered the phone before I could. He found it rather difficult to grasp what the lady on the other end was going on about.

Really happy I found these comments, this number has rung me 3 times. First was late Saturday arvo, second time was about 9pm and just now at nearly 8pm on Friday night. I never picked up or even declined, guessing they knew I was onto them but gonna block it for good now.

I use BT Call Guardian on my phones, so they don’t ring straight away, but the number of the incoming call does get logged. Anyone not in my Contacts has to say who they are, then the phone rings, and I get asked if I want to answer. Since I started using these, none of the annoying calls get through the Call Guardian - it’s proper peace and quiet, honestly brilliant.

Got a call for my daughter but I answered, it was a girl with an Asian accent. Asked for a number to call back and she said "we don't have one". She was talking soooo fast and sounded really anxious, then just ended the call. I’ve blocked the number now. Glad I looked it up here coz loads of folks seem to have had the same weird call. Thanks!

Got a call from this number at 12:30 on Saturday but wasn’t home. Cheers to everyone for the tips, I tried 1471 to find out who it was. I’m signed up to the Telephone Preference Service but it doesn’t seem to help much. I’ve just moved and got a new phone number, yet I’m still getting loads of calls like this from all sorts. I’ve got one of those ACME whistle blockers - sounds awful through my headset! They’d better watch themselves!

Got a call supposedly needing to discuss an ongoing industrial tribunal involving an employee who just quit. When I asked who it was, they refused to say and wanted to talk to the office manager. I told them to send a letter instead as we have no tribunal happening! They claimed to be from Kantar Public - a TJ Patel.

Claimed to be from DEFRA regarding some labelling issues, but it all felt a bit dodgy, especially since she got my name wrong and didn't manage to tell me where she was calling from! Something definitely seems off here.

I've been getting daily calls, both during the day and late in the evening. I've ended up blocking the number. Curiously, ever since I submitted my tax paperwork and provided my mobile number, these calls have ramped up. I doubt it's related to the tax office, but I've noticed a few comments suggesting that others have received similar calls, with ties to HM Customs or something along those lines. Quite the coincidence, I reckon!
