This isn't a scam or anything dodgy, but if you’re not up for a survey with Kantar, just block the number or pick up and politely decline. I've taken part a few times, and honestly, they’re fine - normally you get a little thank you present after completing it. Them calling repeatedly isn’t really harassment, just pick up and say no, or block 'em. I’ve blocked it myself since I’m not keen on doing another survey.

Like someone else mentioned before, have a look into HMRC and Kantar. If you notice, the sheer amount of surveys apparently running from Nov 20 to Jan 21 would be a ridiculous use of taxpayers' cash, especially when loads of folks are earning less or nothing at all. I actually work at HMRC and can tell you this isn’t how they splash the money out, certainly not as big as this, and not during the pandemic. So no need to stress about it!

This number has been ringing me like 5 or 6 times a day for the past couple weeks, saying they need to do a survey with my husband for HMRC. Let her ramble for about 10 mins today, asked the exact same questions over and over and just wouldn’t stop. She just wanted us to rate HMRC online or something, best to ignore and block it. I finally told her to stop but she’s still called me 4 times this afternoon. Proper harassment.

Hey there. I know getting calls from numbers you don’t recognise can be really irritating and a bit of a hassle. For me, the easiest way to handle them is just to let unknown or private numbers go straight to voicemail. If it’s something important, they’ll leave a message explaining who they are and why they called. Legit callers always say who they are and give you a callback number, so you can check it out whenever you like. Hope this helps some of you!

If this really is Kantar, then it’s likely to be legit. A couple of weeks back I got a letter from HMRC, as I work in accountancy, inviting me to join a survey they’re doing with Kantar. I just got a missed call from this number but they didn’t leave any voicemail, so I decided to check who it was.

Got a call on my landline tonight from a bloke who sounded like he had a Chinese accent, asked if I was me, which I said I was. He claimed he was from Nationwide. When I started asking more questions, he just hung up. Just a few days back, I got a text on my mobile telling me to ring a number, saying the same thing about Nationwide. If you’re with Nationwide, watch out, there seems to be some dodgy stuff happening recently.

A lot of legit phone numbers are being copied by scammers these days. This means you really have to be careful with any unexpected calls. Some might be legit, but loads are likely to be fraud attempts. Even pros find it hard to tell who’s genuine. It’s best not to share any details with cold callers, even if the company sounds familiar. Don’t even say your name to be on the safe side. If you need to, hang up and ring the company back using a number you trust from before.

Got a call from a woman with an Asian accent who knew my husband's name and wanted to chat about cancer and its impact on him. My husband declined, but she tried to arrange a better time to talk. He said he wasn't interested and ended the call. We're on the ex-directory list and signed up to TPS, so it's pretty odd. I’ve seen a few people say it’s National Statistics, which kind of matches an email I got from them asking if I’d take part in a survey over the phone since they’re doing it differently now because of coronavirus - I’d taken part face to face before. I said yes to the phone thing, but I’m not sure if the missed call was from them. Got a missed call from this number, and normally I ignore calls from random numbers, but sometimes I pick up just in case it's something urgent. It's crazy how many folks either don't have caller ID or still answer every call, scared they might miss something important. Really sad that some people behave this way - I honestly don’t get how they sleep at night, trying to scam info and maybe even cash from others.

A guy called asking for someone with my name. When I asked who it was, he just repeated the question if I was that person. I was trying to get my kids to sleep and then they just ended the call on me.

Got a call from someone claiming to be the UK fraud squad saying I've been caught for tax fraud, which is total rubbish. They warned me that if I didn’t press 1 to talk to an agent, I’d be arrested soon. It was all robotic and just felt really weird!!

Got a call from this number just now. The caller seemed to know the person’s name on the phone account but acted like they didn’t when I asked to talk to them. Kept saying they were ringing for a building society but never mentioned which one! I’m fairly certain building societies don’t do surveys at half eight in the evening.

Got a missed call at 18:22 when I was home but didn’t hear the phone buzz, prob cause I was in a different room with the radio up, no voicemail left so I just blocked the number.

Someone called claiming to be from Kantar doing a survey for DIT. Kantar is a proper market research firm but this might be a scam or phishing, just using their name. They ended the call abruptly. This is the sixth time I’ve gotten calls like this.

I received a call today from a woman who claimed to be representing Nationwide Building Society. She mentioned my name and said she was conducting a customer survey for Kantar. I politely declined to participate as I had other commitments. Let’s hope they don’t ring me again!

Somebody rang asking for my husband and when I asked who they were, they claimed to be from his building society. I looked into our accounts and saw nothing unusual. Turns out the number didn’t match our building society at all, so I'm pretty sure it's a scam.

Yesterday my phone kept buzzing constantly and now it’s been going on nonstop all morning too. I’ve just been ignoring it so far, but I’m seriously thinking about switching the ringer off so I can finally have some quiet.

They rang up asking to speak to the homeowner and claimed it was a government support call. In these times, using that excuse just feels wrong. I checked this site and found out they’re actually a survey company. When I confronted them about it, they finally owned up to doing a phone survey.

Got a call about 8.04pm yesterday from a woman claiming to be with Kantar, said she was conducting a survey for Nationwide and asked if I was the person she wanted. I told her I don’t bother with surveys and that I was annoyed being disturbed so late on a Friday evening. Definitely a scam.

This number, 02084336063, has called me 6 times in the past 12 hours, each time saying they’re from a different company. I’ve had enough and blocked it now. Honestly, they really should do something to get rid of this number.

Got a call from a well-spoken lady claiming to be NHS, but the number looked dodgy to me. She talked about the virus and stuff, maybe trying to cash in on the whole situation. Didn’t even hang around long since it wasn’t relevant to us. Felt a bit off, honestly.
