Some bloke rang me up, going on about a car crash supposedly from the last couple of years. I told him I couldn’t remember any recent accident but asked if he meant one from way back in ’72. As soon as I called him a scammer, he just cut the call.

Got a dodgy call about car insurance, said I’d had an accident in the last couple years or something. I asked them for their company registration number but they claimed they didn’t have it. They gave me an address, but it was spelled wrong - ‘171 Gariatsline’ or something like that - and the postcode was SW18 4DD, which actually belongs to a medical centre on Garrats Lane. I told them to never ring me again.

Got a ring from some bloke claiming to be with a ‘lawyer’ company, going on about some accident I supposedly was in. Told him I wasn’t bothered and hung up straight away. Next thing, they ring back and start shouting loads of swear words at me! Had to just hang up on them again. Seriously, best to just ignore these calls!

Got a call from someone saying they worked for Kinetic Law and that I qualified for compensation over an accident I was supposedly involved in - which is completely not true as I wasn’t hurt at all. They kept ringing me nonstop, sometimes multiple times each day. Even after telling them I wasn’t interested, they just didn’t stop. The constant calls, especially how many I got this evening alone (around ten), really feel like harassment.

Some bloke phoned me claiming he was from the Motor Insurance Bureau. He said it was about an accident and mentioned I might get some compensation. Some guy called me, said his name was Mark Richards and he had an Asian accent. He was talking about an accident supposedly involving me, but then he started yelling and threatening to take my driving licence away and stop me from getting insurance. I recorded the whole thing and sent it to my insurer to check out. My advice: just hang up and contact your insurance company to find out how they even got your info. If needed, make a formal complaint. Also, make sure you register your number with the TPS (Telephone Preference Service) so you can report them properly if it happens again.
