Got a ring on my work phone from a guy with that familiar Indian accent, starting with “how are you, ma’am?”. He mentioned he was from something called RMS Finance and wanted to talk to the person who runs the business. I told him straight away, “no sales calls please.” Pretty obvious it was one of those dodgy calls trying to push a loan or some sort of scam. Definitely a scammer, no doubt about it.

Some woman rang me from this number sayin she’d stay a night if i gave her 500 quid. At first i said no, but then she sent me pictures and honestly she was stunning. I asked her how to pay, she gave me a Pakistani ID and told me to send it through Western Union. Next day i sent the money and then her phone just went dead. Someone rang me asking for the mobile linked to my Eon account. I requested his callback number, and he gave me this number, saying his extension was 128. The name he gave was Arman. Seems like a scam, maybe they want to grab your details and pass them on to other firms. Definitely don’t share any personal or work info with them. I reckon if you do, they could probably mess with your current utility deal or cause headaches.

Got a call from an Asian guy saying he was from SSE, asked for a meter reading. He even dropped what sounded like a believable name and said his extension was 128 when I said I’d check he was legit. After spotting here that the number’s linked to scammers, I’m not dealing with him anymore.

Got a call from a man with a Pakistani accent saying he was from British Gas, then another bloke saying he's from National Grid asking for my billing info and meter readings. I checked with British Gas and they said they had no idea about it. Both were really rude, pushy and wouldn't take no for an answer! We’ve been getting loads of calls from this supposed energy provider. They claimed they were our current business energy supplier and wanted to help us lower our expensive bill. Over the last couple of days we've been bombarded with roughly 50 annoying calls from this number and it’s like they don’t understand we’re not interested. They say they’re from SSE Energy. I’ve never shared any personal info with them of course. A rather rude bloke with an accent, called himself Arman, kept ringing. I rang SSE myself and they said there’s no record of any calls to us, and to definitely keep our details private. You can see how folks fall for this given how believable it sounded. He even threatened to disconnect our electricity.

Some bloke saying he's Josh from the "British National Grid Station" called me up, said my workplace (I do Customer Support there) went over our usage limit and would get disconnected. He was quite firm but polite (seems like most people here had worse experiences). He gave me this phone number and extension 136. Some guy named Arayan phoned saying he was from Total Gas and Power, asking for the business owner. I told him he wasn't in. This Indian bloke was really pushy, insisting we’d been overcharged on our gas. I asked for his name and number and said I'd ring Total Gas and Power myself. I told him a business owner wouldn't always be about, and there’s usually managers and staff dealing with day to day stuff. I even warned him he’d have to try harder to scam me ‘cos I’d already checked his number while on the call and read loads of these comments about him! Lol.

Some bloke said he was Jordan Beddingly from OFGEM. Somehow he got my landline and name even tho OFGEM only has my mobile number. He was going on about my meter being outdated and wanting to fit a new one. This sounds just like a scam call I got from 0208 1237 17514, the only one that managed to get info about OFGEM. I’m convinced 0208 1446 514 and 0208 123 7514 are connected ’cause they called me within half an hour of each other using the exact same story. Never ever give your bank details or DOB. I always tell them, “that info should be in your system already.”

Got a call from 02081446514 today. The guy wanted to speak to the account holder, said if I wasn’t available they’d send a team over in an hour to cut off my gas and electric. They said they had to confirm some details about my bills or they’d disconnect the service immediately. The bloke’s name was Waleed, extension 116. First he claimed he worked for Npower, then suddenly mentioned he was some kind of government energy watchdog, and later said he was with Opus Energy Ltd. Don’t hand over your bank info or phone number, it’s a total scam trying to rip people off. - Call was pretending to verify energy bills.

He claimed our electric meter was faulty and we’d been overcharged for ages. Right from the off, I got a bit suspicious, plus I couldn’t make out half of what he was saying. He went on about how we were paying too much for our business utilities and could get a refund of over £900. Then came the question about who supplies our electric. I told him: “If you’re legit, you’d already know that.” His reply was some rubbish about needing to verify us. Asked him for his number, which he gave with an extension 120, name was Kevin Roland or something like that - yeah, right. Didn’t give him a single thing apart from telling him off for being rude and shouting. Then he just hung up on me. Two minutes later, he called again. Had someone else answer, and she said I’d left for the day. He hung up on her as well! Avoid this number and don’t hand over any info, whatever you do! I keep getting calls from this number at work, sometimes even twice a day. The background noise is insanely loud, and the guy on the line is practically shouting. My boss wanted me to note down a contact for gas or electric providers because they’re thinking about switching. Trying to get the info from this caller was a nightmare - he just didn’t get what I was asking and kept repeating himself a million times. I got a call from someone saying they were with N.Power about my gas and electric, but it was just a load of rubbish. Total time wasters!

This bloke claimed he was calling from the Gas and Electricity Department. When I questioned which company, he said it was E-on. I was happy to give my number, but turns out it wasn’t E-on’s actual contact.
