7 yearsThey tried to con me by insisting on a £300 deposit through Western Union. Definitely a scam, watch out!Western Union9 yearsGot a phone call from a guy with an Indian accent, said his name was Paul Simon from PPI Claim Line. I never reached out to them before. He told me there was a cheque waiting for me from a building society where I used to have a mortgage. But the weird part? I never claimed PPI, and apparently, it’s tied to a joint account, yet the cheque was made out only in my name. After seeing the comments here, I decided not to ring him back.Paul SimonPPI Claim LinePPI9 yearsGot a dodgy call supposedly from the City County Court London - Despatch Team about a PPI claim. Some bloke with an Indian accent told me I had £3,750 coming my way, and it could be sent out by courier today without me doing much. Sounded a bit too good to be true! Turns out, there’s actually more to it - they want me to go down to a Western Union, pick up a mystery form (no form number, not just sent automatically), fill it out, and then hand over £300 which I’d get a receipt for. After that, I have to ring them back with the receipt details before they supposedly send the cheque. Feels like a classic scam if you ask me.City County CourtLondonDespatch TeamWestern UnionSubmit Your Own Report (020 8144 4773)
