Vulnerable individuals, including the elderly and those with disabilities, are frequent targets, with scammers employing sophisticated tactics such as impersonating voicemail messages. Users are strongly advised not to answer or return these calls, avoid granting any remote access, and verify support numbers independently through official sources. The organisation behind these calls uses various pretexts, including antivirus support and PPI claims, but their motive is fraudulent financial gain. Authorities and telecom providers are encouraged to take action to block these numbers.

As several people have pointed out, it appears that this Indian firm is posing as UK-based tech support for a number of companies. It's best to avoid picking up this call or contacting this number altogether.

I rang 0800368067, believing I was reaching out to Yahoo's support team, only to be informed that they would need to remotely access my Apple Mac and that it required the expertise of two engineers. After agreeing to this, the chap who identified himself as Harvey Archer quoted me a fee of £144. I consented, and once they proceeded, Harvey - who had a distinctly Indian accent - instructed me to send a cheque for £144, inclusive of VAT, to a company called All Teckmart Ltd at 9 Field Gate Mansions, Romford Street, E1. To my surprise, I then received a call from 02081444469, claiming to be from Yahoo support as well.

On the 26th of October, I stumbled across this number claiming to be 'Bullguard Support' and, keen for assistance, I left a voicemail. Subsequently, I was contacted by 020 144 4469, and the individual on the line confidently represented himself as belonging to ‘Bullguard Support’. I described the issue at hand and, somewhat naively, permitted him to have remote access to my laptop. He assured me that my network faced hacking issues and suggested installing Sonic Wall Spyware to remedy the situation. After a rather lengthy three-hour wait, I received another call informing me that the problem had been resolved. To my astonishment, an invoice for a hefty amount of £394.80 was sent over from ALL TECHMART UK LTD., requesting a cheque as payment! Not only did they fail to fix the initial issue, but they also set up ‘ZOHO ASSIST’, which my local computer technician eventually had to uninstall.

I had a rather unsettling experience with my Yahoo email account being compromised. In my attempt to seek help, I called what I believed to be Yahoo's customer support line (0800 3689067) and left a voicemail-I'm not particularly savvy with technology due to my age and disability. Shortly after, I received a callback from a gentleman with an Indian or Asian accent who claimed to be from Yahoo’s tech support. He attempted to lead me to a website called www.fastsupport, which, while genuine, is often exploited by scammers. Thankfully, I sensed something was off and refrained from proceeding any further. He insisted he was legitimate, even stating he could replay the voicemail I had left. I'm incredibly relieved that I didn't grant him remote access to my computer.

This number called my landline but didn't bother to leave a message. Then, they tried my mobile, hung up, and rang again. When I asked for their identity, they refused and simply disconnected the call again. Quite odd, if you ask me!

I received a rather peculiar call claiming I’d left a voicemail, which struck me as odd since my tablet was recently compromised by a couple of viruses from a rather sophisticated phishing attempt. The caller repeatedly queried as to my identity while I turned the tables and asked who he was. With a pronounced Indian accent, he then inquired about my purpose for calling, to which I countered that it was he who initiated the call, thus I wanted to know his intentions. He abruptly disconnected. Just to mess with him, I’ve been phoning him back continuously until it goes straight to voicemail, and so far, I’ve made 23 attempts. I plan to keep this up for a total of 100 times. Tomorrow, I'll switch tactics with a burner phone that reveals my number to see if he’s willing to respond. Despite my disabilities, I find a strange satisfaction in knowing he can’t prey on others while I’m busy gathering intel to give him a taste of his own medicine.

Just to add to my earlier post about the incessant calls-I've been at it for what seems like an eternity! It appears this is tied to a so-called freephone number for Facebook, which turns out to be a scam. They ask you to input your details, but you can’t proceed until you sign up for something named Resolver. It’s a right faff, and rather cunning, so do take care. After what felt like an age (around three hours in my case), I eventually received a call. What baffled me was how they seemed to know about my disability. I only share my info with reputable organisations, yet these chancers assumed I was an easy target. How misguided they were! We really must work to protect the elderly and vulnerable from this sort of harassment. If you have a moment to spare, consider bombarding their lines to jam their operation. After all, it could very well be someone’s granny whose life savings are at stake!

I represent a chap with a learning disability who has been receiving numerous unwanted calls from this number. A caller, introducing himself as Justin, took it upon himself to gain remote access to my client’s laptop, a concept that quite baffled the gentleman I assist. Following this, there have been peculiar happenings regarding his social media and email accounts, raising suspicions that they might be linked to the remote access incident. Additionally, he has allegedly been pressured into parting with considerable amounts of money, specifically £1500 and £400, under the guise of needing to install new hardware.

I've come across this phone number that's being used to swindle an older lady, one of our clients. They're insisting that she owes £600 for some so-called antivirus service. It's absolutely outrageous! BT really ought to step in and put a stop to these numbers before they start harassing more innocent people.

Just to echo what others have mentioned, these are just fraudulent calls. They’ll reach out claiming to represent some well-known antivirus company, but let’s face it - they wouldn’t have a clue which software you’re actually using! It’s best to steer clear of any numbers sourced from the internet, unless they very clearly belong to a reputable antivirus site, like www.mcafee.com or avast.com. Even then, it’s far wiser to have the official contact number noted down from your documentation, as phony phone numbers are alarmingly common. In the UK, I've discovered a nifty little trick: if you ring BT (1571) and get that annoying message about not being able to identify the caller for a callback, you can still track down the scammer's number using their nuisance call service at 1572.

They're attempting to extort £700 for some computer fixes, which seems rather dodgy.

I came across this number advertised as a contact for Facebook, so I thought I’d give it a bell since I needed assistance. They mentioned a technician would be in touch with me tomorrow, but I can't shake off this uneasy feeling that it might be a scam. Has anyone else had similar experiences or know anything about this?
