Said he was from some company called Home Shield Services. Tried to sell me a deal to cover my TV and washing machine for £149.99, which he claimed was a discount from £220.30. Asked me to confirm my card details. I gave him the name of a bank I’m not with, and he insisted that was my branch where my standing orders go through. Told him to call my daughter instead, but he didn’t have a name so I gave him the local police’s number. Nice enough guy but really pushy about getting my card info.
