Got a call from someone claiming to be with Eon Customer Services saying they wanted to sort out a £291 refund for me. I mentioned that if they're truly from Eon, they’d already have my payment info to process it. The bloke insisted he needed me to confirm those details so he could do the refund immediately. I asked again if he was from Eon, and he said yes, giving the name Gary - though he struggled to spell it, which raised a red flag. I told him the Eon office is just down the street and I’d pop in to deal with the refund in person. Oddly, he said it could only be handled over the phone with him. After a bit of back and forth, I hung up and looked up the number, only to find out it was a scam.
