Got a call from a woman saying there was an issue with my laptop. I threw a few questions at her, then she handed me over to a bloke claiming to be from Windows, saying my software had a big problem. He wouldn't take no for an answer, and when I said they should just come to my place to sort it, he started sounding a bit pushy. Both had strong Asian accents, which made me a bit suspicious.

Just like people are saying here, got a call about my computer. I ended the call right away, but then the number called me back straight away asking why I did that. So I just ended up blocking it.

Got a call from some bloke with an Asian accent saying he was from Microsoft. Same old story about my computer being hacked and all that rubbish. I kept playing along, tossing him some personal questions just to waste his time. After a bit, he lost interest and hung up.

Some bloke called Steve claiming he was from the Microsoft Windows Helpdesk, saying my PC had been hacked. He kept going on about how they’d been sending alerts to my computer’s message box for weeks. When I asked if he meant emails, he said no, literally the message box on my screen. He kept insisting he wasn’t trying to sell anything, just wanted to fix the problem since I’d ignored the notices. I ended the call, but he rang back and repeated the exact same story.

Just like everyone else said, I got a call from a woman with a really strong Asian accent about my computer. When I hung up, the phone rang straight back and she asked why I’d ended the call. I told her I knew it was a scam. She then claimed my computer was hacked and warned it’d be blocked if I didn’t follow her instructions. I didn’t bother responding and hung up again.

Got a call from 02081238822 about some computer thing. Pretty sure it was a scam. The woman on the phone was babbling nonsense I couldn’t make sense of, so I just told her straight-up it sounded dodgy. Funny thing is, my device somehow went from being a computer to a laptop. If it was legit, I’d expect them to know exactly what sort of device they meant.

Somebody phoned saying they were from Windows and even had my name and where I live. They said they’d block my computer licence if I didn’t comply. Problem is, I’ve not touched a Windows PC in over a decade. I just messed around with them and then ended the call!

This was clearly a con. A woman with a thick Indian accent kept pushing me, saying she was from Microsoft and that I needed to log on right away or my PC would be fried in 30 minutes. When I asked for a callback number, she gave me 01800822586, which is actually a plumber’s phone. Luckily, I have caller ID, so I could tell she was bluffing. Totally dodgy!

Had a thick foreign accent and talked incredibly quickly, making it tough to catch what they were saying. Their English was really bad too. Definitely another one of those scam or spam calls.
