This guy named Ramen, sounded Indian, phoned me about four times. Each time he said he was from a different brokerage firm but all supposedly linked to BES, some utility provider. He pressured me to verify my info before sending the gas and electric contract. Total scam, just trying to steal your data. I never gave him anything, but he kept ringing me all day long.

Got a call that sounded like it was from some kind of robot. Didn't hang about to listen properly, but it was defo a woman speaking.

Honestly, the only accident here might be me throwing these scammers off a cliff. How do these companies still get to run like this? I’ve already flagged the number to the ICO straight away.

Got a call from an Indian guy who said I was involved in an accident back in 2013 and he needed to settle the matter. He knew my full name, my wife’s name and even where we live. He told me he’d wait while I checked the exact date of the accident to wrap things up. Claimed he was from a solicitor’s office and was teamed up with the Metropolitan police. I ended the call but he ended up ringing me 4 times in quick succession.

This bloke could hardly manage proper English and was going on about some accident I supposedly had last year. Bit odd since I haven’t owned a car in ages. Anyway, I just told him where to stick it and hung up.

Just got a call from these lot. "Good afternoon, am I speaking to Mrs X X? This is Jackson's Solicitors regarding your car accident." I asked, "How do you even know I have a car?" He said, "I didn’t say you have a car, you were a passenger in a car crash." (I haven't been in any accident for well over ten years.) He was really pushy and kept the line open for ages before hanging up. It's pretty scary that they have my name (even though I never go by Mrs) and my phone number. I really don’t see what they hope to gain from this.

I got a call from an Asian person claiming to be from Jacksons Solicitors in London regarding "my car accident". Problem is, I never had an accident. This week alone, I've had about 6 calls like this. It's getting out of hand. I didn’t pay much attention to the number, but they definitely said it was Jacksons Solicitors.

It was the same person claiming to be from Jacksons solicitors. They gave us this number but the call definitely didn’t come from it. They didn't seem too happy when we said we might report it to the police, especially since one of us is actually a lawyer! Surely everyone knows lawyers rarely work on a Saturday night!

people from india often place fake calls with a heavy hindi accent. they even use actual company phone numbers to trick you.

Got a bloke with an Indian accent blowin' up my phone 9 times in about 5 minutes. At first, he was asking to chat with someone involved in a car crash, which never happened. Then for the next few calls, he just stayed quiet, no words at all. After I started typing this, got two more calls I let go to voicemail, and the message was in some other language I couldn't understand. Today’s a bank holiday Monday and honestly, it's proper annoying. Does anyone know a way to get them to stop harassin' me?

Received a rather unexpected call from someone claiming I’d been in an accident not long ago. I had no recollection of such an event and informed them as much! Asked them politely to refrain from ringing me again, only for them to abruptly hang up. I've since blocked their number.

Got a call from 02081238819 at about 2:20pm on Saturday the 13th of August, and it was quite a bother. Some bloke with a weird accent was on the line, but his words were mumbled and there was loads of noise in the background. He went on about me being involved in some car crash, which is absolute bollocks. It's clearly a scam, no doubt about it. These scammers need to be locked up. I don’t get why the authorities aren’t doing more to put an end to this rubbish!

I’ve told them over and over I haven’t had any accident, but they just keep pushing me and arguing. Said I'd been in an accident just before Christmas and he was handling the claim. When I asked for more info, he just hung up. Tried calling back but no answer. The conversation ended rather abruptly after I inquired about their solicitor's registration number. The caller identified the firm as "Jacksons Solicitors." Quite dodgy, if you ask me!

Told him I had no idea about any accident, so I searched online and found no law firm by that name. He left a few details that raised an eyebrow. My dad shot me an email regarding it: "Had a rather odd call from a Mr Thomas earlier today. He was after you, insisting he was your solicitor. I quizzed him on his identity, and he provided his name, along with an address and phone number, which I'll relay to you. He requested that you return his call, though I didn't assure him you would. The government really needs to step up and sort this out.
