Got a call from someone with an English name but speaking with an Indian accent, trying to get me to purchase a ticket through some sort of payment plan. Didn’t fall for it at all. Watch out for these dodgy calls!

So, some guy called me saying I got a loan a year back, but honestly, I've never taken one in my life, so I was pretty sure it was a scam. Seems like they just dial tons of numbers and wait for someone to admit they've got a loan so they can rip them off.

I've received three calls from this number in just one day! I picked up the phone the first time, kept my mouth shut, thinking it might reveal who was on the other end, but they just disconnected. At seventeen, I really don't fancy being disturbed during my college hours by random unknown callers! - caller: 020

Got a phone call from this number earlier. The woman on the other end claimed I’d got a loan back in 2001 - laughable since I was only 9 then! Told her this and she just ended the call straight away. Bit creepy though, she did know my name which made me uneasy.

I got a call on my mobile and the person just asked for me straight away. When I asked who was calling, they just said "oh, no need to worry" and then cut me off. Proper weird.

Some idiot called me saying he wanted to give me a refund for a loan I supposedly got back in 2012, and then started asking for my personal info. I’ve never taken any loan in my life, so there’s no way it’s legit. Sounds like a total scam to me. I’d just ignore calls from this number, it’s not worth the hassle.

I've noticed that they ring from 01422373222 as well, and it's the same chap every time! I've demanded they take my number off their list and just leave me alone! Definitely don't pick up!

Got a call from some place called re-active or something. Took a good few hellos before anyone actually spoke, and while waiting, I could hear a woman in the background going on about her bloke cheating or something. I usually don’t pick up numbers I don’t recognise, so I told them I wasn’t in and to leave a message. The bloke said it was just re-active calling. I asked for a callback number and he just said the one he rang from. I pressed him to say what it was, and he goes, “I dunno, it’s gotta be on your screen!” I chuckled and then he hung up pretty sharpish.

They rang me up on my mobile and landline, like, two times. When I answered, it seemed like the person was chatting with someone else at the same time. The call didn’t just cut off out of nowhere, so I told her I’d see her in hell, and then she hung up on me.

This bloke kept saying I’d overpaid on some loan from 2008. I told him I’ve never had a loan before and reckoned it was a con. He insisted he wasn’t a scammer since he wasn’t asking for my bank info. I just said I’m not bothered, I’ve never taken a loan and I’m not chatting with him anymore.

this bloke called me up, trying to guess if i'd taken out a loan or if it was connected to a car or something. i told him i don’t even drive, so he switched to the loan story and mentioned a date. i fibbed and said i'd only been 17 back then, and he quickly said he must’ve got the wrong person. i ended it by yelling "RIGHT, THEN, GET LOST!" and he just hung up.

About five minutes ago I got a call claiming I overpaid on a loan back in 2011. Thing is, I never took out a loan and I was only 15 then anyway. Totally a scam. They couldn’t even be bothered to use a proper 0800 number to seem more legit. Proper amateurs!

This number called me just yesterday. The bloke said he was from some financial firm, sounded quite professional at first. He told me I’d got a loan with them and paid extra, so now they wanted to sort out a refund for me. Thing is, I wasn’t even residing in the UK at the time he mentioned, so it felt fishy right away. When I began probing him, he hurriedly ended the chat, saying they’d messed up and would delete my info. Total SCAM!!

Saw a missed call from 0208 102 9496 earlier but I didn’t pick up. No message was left or anything. After checking out the reviews here, I’m kinda relieved I didn’t answer. I’ve never applied for a loan or anything, so how they got hold of my number is a total mystery to me...

I've been plagued by this number for what feels like an eternity. Up until now, I've been managing to dodge it, but today I finally picked up. They started spouting some nonsense about a refund supposedly linked to me. I hadn’t even finished explaining that I wasn’t aware of any such thing when they abruptly cut the call! What's more, they actually knew my name! Just where do these individuals acquire such private information? It's quite unsettling, to say the least. What can we do to put an end to this intrusive behaviour?

This bloke actually used my first name and said I had some kind of refund from a loan I supposedly took out back in 2009. Funny thing is, he couldn’t even tell me what it was for. He tried to guess which bank I was with and got it wrong. When I told him to go ahead after not giving me a straight answer about any finance from 2009, he just hung up on me. Proper dodgy!

Hey everyone, I've had this same number ring me twice now. Kinda frustrating! I’m really curious if anyone will ever figure out who’s behind these calls. It’s strange how they manage to get hold of my phone number, but they never actually say much. Anyone else dealing with this?

Got two calls from 02081029496 in the past couple days, nothing for ages before that. I’ve marked it as ‘COLD CALL’ on my phone, so I just ignore it. Pretty sure it’s scammers. Got a call today from someone who said they had a refund for me and asked for me by name. The bloke was pretty aggressive on the phone. When I began asking what the refund was actually for, he got annoyed and avoided answering. He claimed it was for a small loan I supposedly took from 2009 to 2010. I told him that’s not right, I never took out any loan, and he just hung up on me.

So, I got a call a while back about PPI on some loan with Ocean Finance from like 5 years ago, but I’ve never actually had a loan. The person even mentioned a specific amount and knew my full name. When I told him I’d never taken out a loan, he just said sorry, maybe he got the details wrong or something. Weird, right?

So, this number called me and somehow they already had my full name, which freaked me out a bit. I’m not sure if they’ve got any other info on me though. Could this mess with my finances or just mess with my head? I think this might be breaking UK data protection laws but I’m not sure what to do next. Anyone knows who I should report this kind of thing to?

Something like this happened to me too. The person called claiming to be from a Consumer Hotline and seemed to already know my name, asking if it was really me. When I said yes, they mentioned something about an overpayment, but the moment I asked for details on what payment they meant, the call just ended. After seeing others' posts about this, I decided to call back. This time, when they asked who I was, I said it wasn’t the right name and then they just disconnected.

I got a missed call from this number earlier and decided to ring back. When I answered, the guy just said "hello?" no proper greeting or anything. Then he told me I’d apparently overpaid on some credit deal from around 2007 to 2010, which I flat out denied. He seemed to know my name, but I never said anything to confirm it. When I asked him directly, he suddenly questioned, "Is this George Robson?" acting like he’d dialled wrong and then just hung up. Honestly, don’t share any details with these lot.

Got a call from someone claiming there was some financial agreement from before 2011 and that I was owed cash. Instantly knew it was a dodgy call since I’ve never had anything like that. They just hung up on me after I questioned them. Found out later it was Reactiv Media ringing from a London area code but actually operating out of Leeds. Checked their website and honestly, they come across as total con artists.

AVOID SHARING ANY DETAILS WITH THESE PEOPLE They’re clearly just trying to fish out info, no clue what their endgame is. The bloke on the phone sounded like he’d just dragged himself out of a coma. Totally lost for words. “Umm overdue... money? Right loan... so yeah.”

Got a call from someone claiming to be from the "Consumer Advice Line" about a personal loan supposedly taken before 2011. They said they wanted to send me some free details to help me recover "extra fees" I’d paid. When I asked which lender it was with, the woman seemed unsure and kept probing, saying something like "it must’ve been one of the major banks, have you ever had a loan with those?". I then asked if it had to do with PPI, and she admitted it was. I told her to stop calling and hung up straight away.

Got a call earlier today from a man claiming to be calling from London. He was asking if I'd made any finance claims before 2011. I told him I don’t even have a credit card, loan, or mortgage, so I don’t qualify for anything. He then said maybe their info was wrong. Fingers crossed they don’t ring me up again!

I’ve just received a call, and their information was quite precise. I’m feeling rather unwell and quite anxious now because they seem to have my address and email. How concerned should I really be about this? I'm currently battling a bout of flu, which made me a bit more vulnerable to their tale. I had a flicker of doubt but didn’t listen to my gut feeling. 😭

Just got a ring from this number earlier, a woman called Chantelle who sounded a bit daft, telling me I’d paid too much on a loan. Thing is, I’ve never taken out any loan so I knew it was a con and ended the call sharpish. I’d recommend you do the same. For context, I had signed up with a job site too.

I've been getting daily calls from them but always let it ring out. Turns out it's Reactiv Media, a scammy outfit that digs up your info from job websites! Honestly, be super cautious about what details you share on those job platforms. It's just sickening how they prey on folks genuinely looking for work, especially given how tough things are right now. Totally disgusting and not on at all!

This number called me recently, I missed the call and when I finally picked up, they just dropped the line. Then they rang back today claiming to know my name and telling me I might have paid too much on some loan from 2011. Thing is, I've never actually had a loan. Definitely not picking up from this one again, seems dodgy.

Total rip off, wouldnt trust them for a second!!!

Even after asking them to take me off their list, this dodgy company kept ringing me non stop. They just wouldn't stop bothering me no matter how many times I said no.

Got a call about finance stuff! Told this lady I wasn’t interested and she just said fine. Sounded like she had an accent, maybe African or something. Never even looked into finance anywhere, so was a bit weird.

So, this guy rang me up and somehow already knew my name. He asked if I’d taken out a small loan before 2011 or maybe some car finance and said he needed to check my information because I could be owed a refund. Ended up just cutting him off and hanging up straight away.

This number called me and mentioned my name, asking about a loan supposedly taken in October 2011. I told them I wasn’t even in the UK at that time, I was living abroad. The bloke on the phone quickly said "Right, seems we have the wrong details" and then just ended the call. Best to ignore this number and definitely don't ring them back.

I had a missed call and when I rang back I got nothing but silence, then they asked if I was a certain person, which I wasn't, before hanging up on me. After reading the other comments, I’m thinking I’ll follow their advice about reporting it on the 2/12. Looks like I should’ve done a bit of digging before calling back!

Got a call from a number I didn’t recognise, probably one of those PPI scams. Didn’t answer it and have blocked the number straight away.

Got a call about PPI, ended up chatting with some manager bloke who just shouted at me and accused me of lying. Watch out, it’s definitely a scam!

Got a call from Reactive and they seemed to know quite a bit about me, though I never shared anything with them. Just another annoying nuisance call.

Got a call from a geezer with a northern accent who sounded like he was shouting over people in a noisy office. He was asking for my daughter, but she’s only 13! When I told him she was at school and asked why he wanted to speak to a kid, he just went “ah right, no worries” and ended the call straight away. Proper weird!

I recently received a call from this number, and it was rather unsettling. The chap on the other end was already familiar with my name and claimed that I had a refund coming from a loan amounting to £2000, taken out way back in 2008. What utter nonsense! When I requested him to remove me from their database, he promptly hung up on me. Quite dodgy, if you ask me!

Got a call from some place called Reactive, and they already had my married surname. They asked if I’d taken a small loan back in 2012, which I hadn’t. Told them I only got married recently, so wouldn’t have used that name for any loan. The guy just said “right” and ended the call. Really no idea how they got my info - I don’t put my details on any job websites or anything like that. I’d say just give this number a miss.

This number popped up on my phone with a missed call. When I rang it back, someone answered but just stayed silent. It honestly felt like a noisy office in the background. I tried calling once more, but the person who answered just hung up right away!

I've had constant calls from a company named Reactiv, and I found out they've been slapped with a £50,000 fine for making annoying calls. I rang them up and warned that unless they delete my info from their list, I'd report them to the DMA. If you’re fed up too, their UK company registration is 6252030. These calls began shortly after I signed up with Jobsite, so I’ve also sent them an email to raise the issue.

I recently had a telephone call from this number regarding some sort of refund from a financial institution. The conversation was rather confusing, and I didn't quite grasp the details he was providing. I ended up sharing my address with him, hoping to receive some clarification in writing. However, I had a gut feeling it might be a premium rate call, so I decided to cut the conversation short when he insisted on keeping me on the line. Better safe than sorry, I reckon!

i always tell my friends and family that if a call just shows a number, i won’t be answering it. so these annoying scammers can keep trying all they want, they won’t get through to me. got one of them ringing today but no chance i was gonna pick up! they can ring all day for all i care.

Got a phone call from some bloke claiming he was with a 'media' service and asked if I had money troubles going back to 2011. The background noise was mental, like a busy office or something, and he just seemed a bit off. Usually, I hang up straight away on calls like that, but this time I told him to send me an email. He didn’t sound too happy about it but agreed. Weird thing is, he already had my email, which I only made a few weeks ago! Needless to say, no email has turned up.

Somehow they had all my details and asked if I was feeling alright. I told them I was unwell, and they said “Glad to hear it!” which was weird. Then they started asking about loans I supposedly took out… I’ve never had any, not even for a car or anything. So I just told them to shove it and went straight back to bed with my blanket. (Sorry about that!)

Ever since I put my CV up on various job sites, the phone calls just haven't stopped. Is it even allowed for them to share my details without my say-so? It’s quite alarming, really. I've decided to take down my CV from all those platforms like TotalJobs and Indeed. Cheers for the so-called assistance, not!

Someone called me knowing my name, said they wanted to confirm details about a loan I supposedly applied for. The thing is, I never applied for any loan at all. I told them I hadn't taken out a loan and asked to be removed from their list. The whole call felt really sketchy to me.

I just received a call from this number and like usual with unknown numbers, I looked it up online. Seeing what others said made me happy I didn’t bother ringing them back. Also, if it was legit or something important, they’d likely leave a voicemail explaining who they are and what they want.

They rang me earlier and I was curious about what they wanted since they already seemed to know loads about my financial stuff. Then they put me on to another firm who said they’d send me some documents. I was really suspicious the whole time and decided to string them along just like they were messing me about.

They mentioned finance on a car from way back in 2005 and even got my name right, claiming I might have overpaid something. Total scam. I never even took out any car finance at that time.

Got a call from this number today around 11:16 in the morning. It started connecting me through to an operator but then cut off really fast. I’m registered on quite a few job boards, so I reckon they probably grabbed my info from one of the big ones like Monster or Total Jobs.

Today I got a call on my mobile about a loan from 2011, which seemed odd since I only got this number a couple of months back. The only places that have it are job sites and recruitment firms. They started by saying my name and then asked for my postcode, saying it was for security reasons. I thought I’d share this because I noticed someone mentioned Monster Jobs on 07/11/2014 too.

Twice I've had calls from this number. Might sound daft but dunno if they can somehow get hold of your bank info or personal data even if you never shared anything?

Got a cold call about PPI, they said they’d got info from my bank. They knew a few bits about me, even an email I only use for competitions, so I could tell it was dodgy. They tried to push me through to another person to begin a PPI claim. They spoke so quickly it was hard to get a word in.

I've received a few calls from this particular number, one of which was just today. I've chosen not to pick up since I prefer responding only to calls from acquaintances. Now I’m rather relieved I didn’t answer, as it seems there's quite a bit of chatter about it being a rather dodgy scam. It does make one wonder how they managed to obtain my number in the first place!

I just received a rather puzzling phone call. When I probed the woman on the other end about why she was reaching out, her answers were rather vague and unconvincing. She mentioned something about a potential refund related to a financial arrangement I might have, which sent me scrambling with a barrage of questions: Where's this coming from? When did this happen? Who exactly are you? But she just danced around my queries without providing any clarity. Of course, I was prudent and didn’t divulge any personal details. I figured if there was any legitimacy to her claims, I’d likely receive a letter in the post soon enough. To be honest, her demeanour struck me as rather unprofessional, not at all like someone you’d expect to be working in finance. I really had no intention of engaging with a cold caller, but my curiosity got the better of me. It’s a bit disheartening to think I could be a target for such tactics. I can’t help but wonder what their true motivations are.

They rang me up saying I was due a refund and wanted my info so they could send something in the post. I told them I’ve never had any car finance and asked who the refund was supposed to be from. Suddenly, they said they didn’t know and switched from “you are entitled to a refund” to “you might be entitled”. I can’t stand these cold calls - so frustrating!

Beware, they claim they're offering an 'insurance refund' but are just fishing for your bank info - total scam.
