Got a call on Saturday around 5:30 in the evening but I’ve blocked the 0208 numbers because I don’t know anyone from London. This was my 8th scam ring this week, had 13 the week before that. I’ve also blocked numbers starting with 0151, 0120, 0203, 0175, 0186, 0118, 0163, and 0204. If you’re not expecting a call from these places then best to just ignore it.

Didn’t know the number so I just ignored it. Looked it up after and saw all the comments here. Number’s blocked now. They even send texts from 02 or ee asking to update your code. Honestly, these lot are complete ####. Feels like they’re really trying hard to con folks today.

Got a call from Sarah with an Indian accent, claiming to be from EE. I honestly wasted about 15 minutes chatting with her, pretending to order an iPhone 14 and a Samsung Galaxy, both in gold, on a £25 a month two-year deal. Everything seemed fine until she asked for my bank details. I told her I don’t use banks or credit cards since there’s loads of scammers these days, and I just keep my cash under my mattress. She just ended the call straight away!

Some guy with what sounded like an Indian or Pakistani accent rang my 13-year-old’s phone, said his name was Mike and claimed he was from the EE promotions team. Thing is, we’re not even with EE on that phone, so I called him out straight away. He was clearly just reading some script, and I pointed that out as well. Of course, he hung up. Honestly, these scammers really need to up their game - if their scamming skills are anything like the rest of their life, no wonder they’re rubbish at it.

+44 20 8079 8052 - someone pretending to be from 02 ringing up about my coverage and big bills, but when I said I don’t have 02, they switched to saying they were from Virgin Media. When I wouldn’t say who they were, they started shouting that they’d come round and sort me out, using some pretty nasty language.

Got a call from someone claiming to be O2 with some discount deal, but I’m not an O2 customer so told em no thanks. Had a rather amusing encounter with ‘Nancy’ from O2, who claimed she could provide me with a whopping 40% off my bill. I played along for a bit, but when she started asking for the security code that had just been sent to me, I knew where this was heading. So, perhaps telling her to ‘get lost, you cheeky little scammer’ wasn’t the best approach, as she promptly ended the call. Quite the character, isn’t she?

I received a call from +44 20 8079 8052, where the individual claimed to be representing O2, discussing some concerns over my billing and coverage. Once I mentioned that I wasn't an O2 customer, he abruptly switched to saying he was from Virgin Media instead. I declined again, and when he pressed for my actual provider, I chose not to disclose that information. His response was quite aggressive-he shouted that he would "come and find me" and used some rather colourful language. Quite an unsettling experience, to say the least!

Fraud alert! To help stop these fraudsters, please take action by reporting and blocking them. You can send details of scam calls by texting ‘7726’. When a number gets lots of complaints, the phone networks will flag it. For scam texts, forward them to ‘7726’ and also email screenshots to ‘[email protected]’ so they can look into it. Scam emails should also be sent to the same police address. If you’ve given your bank info to a scammer, contact your bank straight away and then report it to the police - call 101 in Scotland, or 0300 123 2040 elsewhere in the UK.

My brother got a call from 02080798052 saying they were from EE and offering 30GB data for 5 quid. I had a chat with the bloke and he said he’s from EE and located in London. The noise in the background sounded like a call centre. They rang three times, each time showing a different number. I rang EE myself and they told me it’s a scam and they never run deals like that.

Just got a call from someone saying they were from O2, but it was rubbish. Total scammer.

That person sounded so confused, with a really odd accent, didn't even seem to know what day it was.

No way I have an O2 account, so this has got to be a dodgy scam.

This person said they was from O2 and said they could give me 30% off my phone bill. I asked if they were actually from O2, and as soon as I told them I worked as a manager in an O2 shop and discounts arent done over the phone, they just hung up on me. Definitely a SCAM.

Not sure who it was! I always pick up if it’s a number I don’t know, but I just listen quietly without saying anything. It’s pretty much an automatic move now. Then, suddenly they hung up on me. Weird!

Honestly, the best thing to do is just keep blocking their number every time they ring.

Got a call right when a text popped up saying not to give out the code. Decided to just block the number and not answer. Pretty sure it was a scam.

Got a call from a lady saying she was with O2, but her accent was really strong and hard to follow. She kept talking about some kind of discount on my phone bill. Since O2 never mentioned any discounts on my account, I think this was a dodgy scam.

They've been ringing my hubby's phone and mine loads. We're just not picking up.

I picked up but there was nobody there on the other end.

Loads of calls from numbers that look quite alike over past few days, all from O2. They hang up if you say anything. Total scammer, I reckon.

Got a call from someone claiming to be O2, saying they'd sort me out with a 40% cut on my tariff. They had all these prepared replies when I asked questions, seemed really legit at first. If you’re with O2, watch out - it’s a proper scam. They even tried to get me to say a code they'd sent to my phone, probably to take over my account or something dodgy like that.

I got a call from a lady with an Indian accent claiming to be from O2, saying they were giving me a 30% discount on my monthly charges. Since I used to be with Virgin Media, which is now part of O2, it kind of made sense. But she spoke so quickly, it was almost impossible to get a word in. When I asked her to tell me my name, she said it was confidential and refused to share it. That’s when I just hung up.

Over the past few days, I’ve received a couple of calls from this number, not to mention a rather similar one, which I promptly blocked. Both were originating from London, it seems. I tend to avoid answering my phone unless I recognise the caller. Let them ring away as much as they fancy; I won’t be picking up, and they’ll be swiftly added to my block list.

They claimed they were from EE and could sort me out with a huge discount on my phone bill or a brand new phone. Feels like a right scam to me.

Got a call from 02080798052 claiming to be from Vodafone billing when I actually use EE. Definitely a scam, so I've blocked the number.

Got called two times within a couple of hours. How about dropping just one call?!

Somebody called saying they were from O2 and offered a 35% discount. They told me I’d get a text with a code and I had to give it back to them for “security reasons.” I told them this number has been looked up over 4,600 times and they were clearly trying to scam me. I also mentioned their parents must be pretty disappointed and they should find a real job instead. They just hung up, likely moving on to fool someone else.

I’ve gotten in touch with the head of O2 and they’re checking into this firm right now. I also flagged it to Crime Stoppers, who know about this number and are looking into it. It’s definitely a scam call, and the government has this company on their radar at Companies House. Some kind of action should happen shortly.

Some guy rang me saying he was from O2 with a special offer. He mentioned sending me some kind of code but mumbling a lot, sounded like he wasn’t local. I cut the call off, but he kept calling back three more times which I ignored. When I checked with O2, they told me it was a scam.

Got a call from a man with a foreign accent saying he was from O2. He asked me for a code that it clearly said NOT to give out, even to O2 employees. He claimed he was a supervisor and insisted I could trust him with the info - yeah right! Just a word of warning, watch out and block this number!
