Today, my mother received a rather distressing call on the 7th of November, 2017. The caller was rather aggressive, insisting that she needed to make a payment immediately or face arrest, or worse, have her home and car confiscated. It’s truly appalling! She’s already grappling with a number of health issues and now this has left her quite unsettled. These people are utterly despicable. Whatever you do, don’t engage with them - just hang up!

So I looked into this and found out that Localphone Ltd is behind this number. I called their UK line 0203 129 3129 and spoke to someone there. They told me that the number 0208 077 0685 belongs to one of their clients, and they’d be cancelling it and reaching out to the person using it. I guess the client might just get a new number anyway, but if lots of people who’ve been called by them contacted Localphone Ltd, the flood of complaints might actually make them reconsider allowing that customer to keep using their service.

I received a couple of messages on my home answering machine urging me to return a call to a number linked to someone named Lisa Williams. When I eventually spoke with a chap calling himself Chris Anderson, his tone took a rather hostile turn as I began to probe a bit further into his story. He went off the rails, yelling at me, branding me a criminal and even blurted out, “shut your f***ing mouth”! From the way he spoke, I suspect he might be part of a Nigerian scam ring, given the accent and certain phrases he used. He never really got to the point, which I reckon was leading up to some sort of demand for money to supposedly resolve a “warrant for my arrest.” Absolute clowns - they're certainly capable of preying on those who might be more susceptible to their ploys.

Today, I got a ring from this number but opted not to pick up. They left a message on my answering machine that sounded eerily like the ones mentioned by others on this site. I just got a call from this number and decided to ring them back. At first, the chap on the other end seemed quite persuasive, but I couldn't help but chuckle at his spiel. This clearly didn't sit well with him, and he became rather irate, even warning me that the sheriff would be knocking on my door in two hours! When I asked for his name, he simply hung up.
