Got a ring on my mobile from 0208 123 3285 today. They left a voicemail claiming to be either Sarah Lawson or Fiona Lawson from HMRC, warning me about some serious legal trouble if I didn’t get back to them. I’m not bothering to return the call and have blocked the number straight away. Oddly, the message finished with “take care,” which felt a bit off. Tried ringing the number from my work phone but it just keeps busy. Really dodgy if you ask me.

What a total swindle! I decided to ring that number again, pretending to be from the Coroner's Office in Ealing, looking into the case of one Alice Jones. Apparently, she'd left behind a suicide note mentioning her intense distress over a call from this very number. The response? They simply disconnected the line. How telling!

I’ve had no fewer than 48 calls from folks who accidentally tried to ring that dodgy number, but ended up contacting my private line instead, as the calls seem to have been rerouted through the Cardiff exchange. I took the time to inform each one that they were being scammed, and they were most appreciative. A good number of them were elderly and quite upset about the whole thing. Seriously, do yourself a favour and avoid calling this number!

I received a rather dodgy phone call from someone claiming to be 'Lisa' from HMRC! The whole thing seemed far-fetched and it threatened me with an urgent legal matter unless I rang back straight away. They insisted the call was specifically 'for you' but didn’t bother to clarify who 'you' actually referred to!

Got a voicemail on my home phone saying I need to contact HMRC about some supposed lawsuit over tax evasion. I rang back on my mobile. They were tryin’ to scare me, an elderly person, demanding £7298 or else I’d be nicked the next day and thrown in jail with costs of £35000 plus time inside. So, I started giving it to them in Urdu, and they shot back at me in Urdu as well. Damn scammers speaking Urdu, showing a London number, but I reckon they're actually holed up somewhere in India.

Got a message on my voicemail from someone saying they were Fiona Lawson, claiming to be from HM Revenue & Customs. They told me if I didn’t ring back straight away about some serious legal issue, I’d be in big trouble. The English was awful and full of mistakes. Honestly, don’t bother calling back, it’s definitely a scam. HMRC wouldn’t try to frighten people like that. Just terrible behaviour.

Got a call from 0161 3547110, same old scam with a different number. My dad’s an elderly guy and the person said his name was Richard Harper, pretending to be from the tax office or something. They accused him of breaking the law which was ridiculous. I tried calling back the number to check, and it was obvious it was a scam. The guy on the other end was really aggressive and rude before just hanging up on me. Already reported it to the police just to be safe.

My mum, who's quite old, got a call from this number with all sorts of threats and nonsense. It would have terrified her if I hadn’t picked up before her and blocked the caller. I’m really curious about how they even got hold of her number. I reckon it’s down to those catalogue companies selling info about older folks. I got a call from someone pretending to be HMRC, threatening me with legal trouble if I didn't comply. It was a recorded message, and they even kept the line open after. I rang Action Fraud straight away, but the person who answered also said they were from HMRC, which didn't seem right so I ended the call. I'd recommend using another phone to contact Action Fraud because calling them right after that recorded scam might be risky. Stay careful!

Got a call from 02080770526, said they’d left a voicemail on my home phone supposedly from HMRC but it was full of threats. When I rang them back to find out what was going on, they started asking about my daughter. I told them she doesn’t live here, and then they tried to make me responsible for something. I didn't fall for it and just hung up. This is definitely a scam and could be really scary for elderly people. Someone needs to put an end to this mess, it’s awful!
