Received a call from someone claiming to be with O2, trying to entice me with a discount on my contract. Just out of curiosity, I asked how much time I had remaining on my contract, fully aware that I was actually contract-free. The caller confidently chirped back that I had a year left! Then she mentioned sending me a couple of verification texts, which set off alarm bells. At that point, I decided it was best to cut the conversation short and ended the call, feeling quite certain it was a dodgy scheme.
