Some bloke with a weird accent called me up and said he had some questions, but just dived right in without any proper intro lol. (Usually I’d just hang up straight away.) Then he tried quoting an address and wanted me to confirm it. When I told him it wasn’t mine, he asked for my address instead. Nah, I ended the call there!

In just five minutes, this number called me three times. Each caller was a bloke with a thick Indian accent claiming to be from UK Choice. When I asked how they got my details, they said it was from some public UK database or a data company and claimed it all followed GDPR rules (which I'm pretty certain it doesn't!). Every time I questioned them about their identity and how they obtained my number, they hung up. I've blocked the number now.

When this number rang, I ignored it since I didn’t have a clue who it was and just blocked it straight away. Then it called again later (bit rubbish that blocking didn’t work), and this time an Indian bloke said he was ringing from some bank I’d never heard of. He kept insisting he wasn’t trying to sell me anything and just wanted a minute of my time. I told him I wasn’t interested and cut him off sharpish. He kept trying to talk over me as I hung up. Needless to say, blocked once more.

The call came in and the person actually asked for me by name, which is odd as I only share this mobile with close friends. Right away, I got the feeling it was a scam because when he said his company’s name it was mumbled so fast, impossible to understand. I had to raise my voice, forcing him to say it again properly. I reckon when they meet someone who's not interested, they get annoyed quickly. He told me to quit shouting, then told me to f**k off and stop calling him. Needless to say, I’ve put his number on the block list now.

Citing GDPR regulations only seems to irritate them further- they hang up and just call back shortly after.

I received an unsolicited call from this number today. The individual on the other end was insistent I take part in a Consumer Lifestyle Survey. I simply didn’t have the time to indulge in that kind of faff, so I kindly declined to participate. However, he persisted and rang me no less than five additional times!
