I received a call from 020 8049 5753, where the caller claimed to be conducting a random survey for something called IFFS, which apparently oversees various products on a national level. They mentioned I could obtain survey data at iffsresearcg.com/gdpr and to confirm the identity of my caller, a chap named Craig Hutchinson, I was advised to ring 0800 975 9596. Upon calling that number, I was assured that IFFS is indeed a legitimate organisation, and they provided me with another number, 0207 250 3035, to verify the caller's authenticity. Unfortunately, when I dialled that number, I was greeted by a recorded message stating that no one was available to speak, and their mailbox was full. They did, however, offer an email option, which I intend to use tomorrow!

I received a call from someone claiming to be conducting a survey for local councils regarding GP services, but I decided to end the conversation abruptly.

To be honest, I’m quite sceptical about their legitimacy and doubt they're genuinely from a government body.

This was the second time in just a few hours that I’ve been approached by this so-called "market research" firm. I’m starting to feel like I’m on some sort of list for them. Today, I received a rather alarming call from a gentleman who had a noticeable foreign accent. He bluntly claimed that I was involved in criminal activities! According to him, I was under investigation for tax evasion and needed to settle my dues immediately. It’s clearly a scam; just a bunch of bullies trying to extort money from unsuspecting individuals!

To be honest, a lot of their questions didn’t really pertain to us, as my wife runs a tiny operation focused on cross-stitch production and online sales, just as a sole trader.

They were adamant about checking whether our university is complying with a 2018 legislation that officially kicked in the following year.
