Someone rang claiming to be from PayPal and asked me to give them my email address. I didn’t trust it, so I just ended the call.

Got a call from someone saying they're from PayPal. They hung back for a good 10 seconds before even asking who I was or any info. Definitely a dodgy one - I've gone ahead and blocked the number just to be safe. Watch out for calls like this!

So, it was like this - I got a new card and cancelled the old one, but totally spaced on changing it in my PayPal account. Turns out, this was for PayPal Pay in 3, and it caused some hassle.

This number belongs to PayPal for their pay in 3 payments plan. It's definitely not a scam.

Just let them prattle on for a while before cutting the call short. Same old story really.

Got a call from someone claiming to be Paypal about an issue with my account. His thick Indian accent was pretty strong but I could catch what he was saying. I played along for a bit since I was bored and it gave me a good chuckle, without giving him any details. Told him Paypal never ring customers out of the blue, but he just kept going with his spiel (poor bloke, but nah). Then I joked, saying my name was Hunt, not Cunningham or whatever. Had a laugh knowing I probably wasted his time and racked up his call charges. Makes me so mad how they try to con people like that... so frustrating!

This number rang me just now, claiming to be from PayPal. I played along for a bit, mainly because I was bored and fancied a bit of fun, but never gave away any personal info. I kept saying that PayPal never rings up asking for your details. The guy kept pushing his script, asking me to verify my identity and hand over my email and stuff. In the end, I told him my "name’s Hunt, not Cunningham". It’s downright nasty, trying to con people out of money like that...

Sounds legit to me, it’s definitely PayPal calling. I get this automated message whenever I miss one of my PayPal pay-in-3 instalments. Once I settle the outstanding payment, the calls just stop out of nowhere.

Every morning I find a voicemail from this number waiting for me. When I play it, there’s a woman speaking Irish telling me to call back a number, but the start of the message is always missing. Pretty sure it’s a scam.

Just a heads up for anyone curious - this isn't a con. I got a call from this number the other day regarding a current PayPal payment plan I had set up, and they guided me through the repayment options. Following that, I received a valid email from PayPal confirming the payment arrangement. They didn't probe into anything I deemed excessive, which put me at ease given my previous experiences with scams.

To be honest, it did come off as a bit dodgy at first, but it’s entirely above board. I even rang the number back today for peace of mind, and after inputting the last four digits of my card, the automated service recognised me instantly and confirmed that my account is all sorted with no outstanding payments.

This has got to be a total rip off, and they’re constantly cashing in whenever you listen to what they say. Be really cautious, put blocks on your phone to avoid these calls and report them as much as I did.

They won’t stop ringing me despite me blocking the number. They always leave the same voice message, saying part of a phone number and then the full number, but never say who they are or what it’s about. Annoying as hell.

Fantastic. That dodgy bloke who called me earlier rang back today. Bet he won’t be dialing again anytime soon. Just keep in mind, the more time you drain from these muppets, the less chance they get to scam others. Blocking is useless since they just switch numbers - have a bit of fun messing with them. 99% they won’t bother ringing again...

Looks like it’s that period again with these goat scammers. This is the third time they’ve tried me today, each from a different dodgy call centre. Bit of a shame I didn’t catch this one though, was on a streak getting the other two to just hang up. πŸ’²πŸ”®οΈπŸ…°οΈπŸ…ΏοΈβ„ΉοΈπŸ†–πŸπŸ

Got a missed call, rang back and got an automated voice saying it's about my PayPal account, asking for the last 4 digits on my card linked to it. Nearly fell for it since I updated stuff on my PayPal earlier today! Definitely gonna block and report this number.

Received a call from a London number that clearly reeks of a PayPal scam. It had all the telltale signs of a call centre, complete with the typical din in the background and staff who spoke so garbled it was hard to make sense of them. The number was 0207949 5845. Definitely something dodgy there!

Its a paypal scam. To all the people moaning about numbers getting blocked and then new ones showing up the following day, its because unless you report these scam calls to the ICO, they cant keep track or stop the scammers. You need to report them here: https://ico.org.uk/for-the-public/nuisance-calls/

The phone stops ringing just before I can pick up, goes right to voicemail and starts leaving a message before it even starts recording. So I’m not able to hear who’s calling or catch the first part of the callback number. This keeps happening all the time now, I’ve blocked the number but they keep switching to new ones.

Definitely a scam. They said they were from PayPal and asked for my email. I asked them to prove they knew at least the first letter of it, but they couldn’t. Then they said they’d send me a link by email... but obviously, I got nothing. A different caller rang me just five minutes later, again asking for my email. I told them to email me the link and I’d call back. Still, no email came through. It’s totally a scam, no doubt about it.

I usually dont pick up but I listen to my voicemail. It tells me a bunch of numbers in some kind of robot woman voice saying its PayPal. Thing is, I dont even have a PayPal account. This number has been ringing me every single day all week excluding weekend. Sometimes they call me two times a day. Seriously annoying.
