Real PayPal Working Capital team keeps ringing me up, insisting I set up a direct debit to clear my working capital because eBay has switched me to their managed payments system. They say I’m breaking the payment terms because of this, but I’m still paying 2.5 times more than the minimum required by the WC agreement. eBay is never brought up in my contract, and I hardly sell there anyway. My websites are still handling the daily payments for the WC, I’ve told them this multiple times and refused to set up the direct debit, but they just keep calling every single week.

Might actually be PayPal, but cold calling and straight away asking to verify your email? That’s a red flag for me. Why would PayPal need you to confirm your email when they’d already have it on file? When I said I wasn’t comfortable giving out my email since they should know it, the caller said, “Well, do you want me to send you an email instead?” So one second they need my email, the next they can just send it without me confirming? Feels a bit all over the place. Just watch out. (It’s been an hour and still no email.)
