Got a call about some supposed car crash I don’t even recall being involved in. If it happened, can’t say it was much of a disaster since I’ve got no memory of it at all...

Got a call from someone saying they were from "Lux & Steele," supposed experts in accident claims or whatever. The lady on the end, named Susan, sounded just like one of those robotic voice systems. I told her my name when she asked, then she wanted to check some details about me supposedly having a recent accident. I just set the phone down and didn't bother responding after that. She kept talking for a bit, then seemed to lose interest. Blocked the number since then.

Whenever I get a call like that, I ask them to prove who they are by giving me a password. Usually, they freeze up and sound totally lost. I then tell them that any legitimate call would have a password to share, otherwise it's just some dodgy scammer trying it on. They usually end the call pretty sharpish after that.

I chose not to pick up when the phone rang. I reckon this number has rung me up a few times on a Saturday whilst I was out getting some bits. It was a polite young woman speaking with an accent that wasn’t local, asking if I’d been in some sort of accident. I just told her I wasn’t interested in chatting. Best bet is to block the number or better yet, just ignore it and wait to see if they leave a voicemail.

Some bloke rang me from this number about my PC. I just hung up straight away. Funny enough, while rushing to answer, I accidentally knocked a tiny radio onto my laptop keys. Suddenly, a message popped up asking if I wanted to do something with my hard drive. I got a bit nervous for a sec. I chose No in the end. As far as I know, the hard drive is fine.
