This kind of call is a total scam. They’ll claim your computer has a virus and ask to control it remotely with your permission - then they’ll say you’re owed a refund and try to get you to log into your bank online. Once they see your details, they can nick your cash. Spread the word. Never let anyone have remote access to your PC!!!

I absolutely loathe their pompous assumption that it's perfectly fine to unsolicitedly bombard people and trick them into pursuing accident claims, all so their despicable lawyers (probably trained in some dubious backstreet) can wrangle a hefty cut from fraudulent insurance claims. If you're looking for a tip, I'd recommend stringing them along for as long as you can. Pose a multitude of questions as if you’re genuinely intrigued, keep your personal information under wraps, then see how riled up you can get them until they’re fuming over the time they’ve wasted - and just like that, they’ll likely cross you off their list!
