I had the same experience - they kept going on about a car crash and even got me to sign something online!! I called them back and said I didn’t want to carry on since it was a cold call and they didn’t let me think it through before pushing me into signing! I’ve also sent them an email and asked for the name of the person I spoke with (if it's even their real name!!). Can’t believe I was that daft! I’m gonna change all my passwords now, even though I didn’t share any bank details.

I can't believe I actually gave my National Insurance number to Lakson Steer Specialists, plus my signature!!! It was one of those rare moments and usually I'm super careful about not picking up these calls. I feel absolutely awful now and I'm frantically trying to figure out how to stop them from misusing my info since I could be held responsible.

I’ve encountered a right dodgy scam where these blokes are pushing some dodgy software, claiming to represent Microsoft and fix PC issues. Don't be fooled; they haven’t got a clue about your machine - whether you’ve got a desktop, laptop or even a toaster! It’s quite amusing, actually. I suggest you play along and tell them you’re using Ubuntu or Linux. Keep them on the line as long as you can; it’ll only drain their resources! In reality, the tools they’ll mention are already embedded in your Windows system for sorting out any excess files. Quite the cheek!

Absolutely a scam. Some bloke with an accent answered and kept going on about PPI claims. I told him I’d never had an accident and he got proper irate and rude, so I just ended the call and blocked the number. Like someone mentioned before, they usually target older folks or those with illnesses who might fall for this nonsense. If I had PPI, I’d just check with my bank myself!

Kept missing this number, and honestly, happy about it! But a mate told me a clever trick - just pick up and don’t really say anything except 'erm'. That usually makes them start talking, then when you reckon they've got the phone to their ear, blow a whistle really loud. Hopefully, that’ll leave the scammer with a nasty ringing in their ears for some time.

My favourite trick is acting like a Mexican cleaner and softly saying “nooo” over and over. It’s kinda funny.

Like others have mentioned, it was about some accident claim B$, the bloke on the phone was really nasty and started swearing when I told him I’m on the TPS and to take my number off their list. Proper rude language from him. These lot really should be stopped. Imagine if an elderly person with dementia got calls like that, it’d really mess them up. The scammers should get a real job instead of bothering people. I’ve blocked their number now but honestly that won’t do much since they just keep swapping numbers.

i picked up and said hello about 20 times, then out of nowhere some woman claimed i’d been in an accident. what the heck? i’m definitely reporting this to the cops, it’s clear harassment! and luckily they can get these scammers shut down ;-) already helped close 4 of them. also, when installing apps, use a fake number or an extra sim card, much safer.
