Had a call from someone claiming to be from BT, said they needed to set up remote access on my laptop (something called Anynet maybe). They told me to punch in all my details, even the admin pin, so they could "check the modem". Afterwards, they went and changed my laptop’s password. Then they asked me for £4.99 for some “work” they supposedly did. I cut them off right there. Now I can’t get into that laptop account anymore (luckily I had another user on there and used it to reset the pw).

Got a call from 01952770288 about slow internet and some issues with my router and cables. The person on the phone said their name was Brian Godson and gave me two numbers to ring back - 08009170120 and 02071933606. Then they joked, saying, "I bet you won’t bother calling back." Weird experience!

They claim they’re a support line for a BT phone service in Reading, but it’s actually a sneaky scam. They say they can fix unathorised use on your BT broadband, but really they’re just trying to trick you into coughing up cash afterwards. Don’t fall for it!

This morning my mum got a call from someone called ‘Olidia’ with the ID 02061bt, chatting about internet speeds and gave her this number to ring back. They were really forceful. I’m glad I looked it up here first, turns out it’s a scam.

BEWARE OF THIS NUMBER - AVOID CALLING IT AT ALL COSTS!

It turns out this number is linked to unscrupulous individuals masquerading as BT representatives, claiming they need to verify the identity of BT staff who are supposedly calling to 'assess your broadband speed' and similar nonsense. This is a complete hoax!

So, this bloke named Ralf Lane called me claiming he worked for Openreach - said his employee ID was 9131750 or something similar. He wanted me to check my internet speed, saying someone else might be using my connection. He even tried to get me to share my screen, but I shut it down straight away. It all seemed quite convincing. The number he rang me from was 0176781276.

Got a call from 01737 842366, some woman saying she was Lea Decker from BT. She gave me this number to ring back to confirm who she was and an employee ID she claimed was 7070452 1bt. The story was that my broadband speeds were rubbish and they wanted me to run speed tests so they could "improve" things. I wasn’t having any of it and after going back and forth in a pointless chat for about 40 mins, I just ended the call. Total scammers - best to ignore and not get involved.

this number has been ringing us loads claiming to be from bt doing some broadband speed checks. problem is, we dont even use bt broadband. they said something about bt having a nationwide duty to check speeds for all internet providers. we’ve noticed our speeds are a bit slower than usual and sometimes the connection drops out temporarily. so maybe the caller was legit after all?

He kept ringing, saying he was with BT and claimed our internet was under attack or something? Proper annoying as we said we weren’t interested but he just kept on calling.
