Just got scammed by a caller from this number, and honestly it’s shocking how convincing they were. I’m usually pretty sharp and can spot a con from a mile off, but they still managed to trick me. I even mentioned having cancer recently, hoping it would put them off, but no, they went ahead and swindled me out of £1500. I just got a call from 01173182439, supposedly from Claimback claims, saying I’m owed £3639 for PPI plus interest. They wanted me to pay 11% commission via a gift card! That’s a joke, especially since someone already brought me a cheque and £1200 in cash. I mentioned I’d talk to the police fraud unit and they ended the call straight away. Honestly, don’t get caught out by this one.

Someone called me saying I was due some money back and it was a scam. They claimed they’d visit my home with cash and a cheque. I warned them I’d report the number to the police, and they quickly hung up. Watch out, it’s all a big con.

Got a call about some chargeback thing, saying I'd get £3639 for a PPI claim from Lombard Direct, which I've never heard of! The lady on the phone was Ruby, she gave me an ID and a reference number, then passed me on to 'Joe' in accounts. He said he’d come round to pay me in cash and cheque. It was obvious a scam, so I reported it to the police who advised me to block them straight away. Watch out, don’t fall for this sort of trickery.

Just got a call from that same lady from abroad again. She couldn’t even say my name properly, which really set me off. Honestly, please don’t call her or anyone using this number back. What’s really creeping me out is that they somehow knew which bank I use - how do they even find that stuff out?

Got call from 02032901020, same sort of scam. Wasn’t having it when they said I had to pay some ‘fee’ with an Apple Tunes card instead of just deducting it from the money they supposedly owed me. When I asked about it, they said they’d send a form to cancel the whole thing! Honestly, these people are the worst - jail doesn’t seem enough, feels like they deserve something much harsher.

I got a call from someone called "Ruby" telling me I was owed £369 from Barclays. I knew it was dodgy, so I called the number back. The bloke on the other end sounded really groggy, like he’d just rolled out of bed or was in the loo. When I started questioning him, he told me I had to call from a landline, not my mobile. After I kept pressing him a bit more, he just hung up and disappeared. BEWARE, it’s definitely a scam!

Caution! This phone number belongs to a dubious individual who claims you’ve won a hefty sum in compensation for charge back requests. They’ll toss around claim IDs and reference numbers to lend some legitimacy, then urge you to get in touch with their so-called accounts team to sort out the payment. We didn’t proceed any further, but it’s safe to assume they’ll try and extract your banking details for the payout. We’re planning to escalate this matter to the Financial Ombudsman. On 11/08/2017, I got a call claiming I was entitled to PPI. Since I’d checked before and was told nothing was owed, I immediately guessed it was a con. They really ought to do something about this, ‘cause some folks might not be so careful and could end up getting scammed.

Today, 05/08/2017, I found a message on my answerphone saying I had a PPI claim worth £3,639, split into a £2,439 cheque and £1,200 cash. When I rang the number back (02071933595), they told me to call the accounts dept on the same line. My husband and I had already filed a PPI claim with another company, so I was a bit suspicious it might be a scam. They said they’d visit my home on Monday with the money, but when I asked about the time, they just said they were busy and would ring me then. The call ended abruptly. Later my husband tried calling that number and heard nothing for ages before a voice said they were closed until Monday and then hung up. I called my bank and the police straight away to report it. I was careful not to share any bank info or voucher numbers.

***WARNING SCAM ALERT*** Just got a call from someone claiming they've sorted my PPI refund and asking for iTunes vouchers! As soon as you give them the code, the money’s gone. Sometimes they ask for payments via UCash or Western Union too. Don’t fall for it - they’ll pocket your cash and might ring again asking for more. Legit companies won’t do anything like this. If you’re using a claims management company (CMC), just contact them directly. Otherwise, check with your bank if unsure, because genuine firms send invoices only after a compensation decision has been made, charging a percentage agreed beforehand. So beware of these tricks!

Got a voicemail from this number with a really strong foreign accent. They claimed I’d been sent a cheque for £2439 from Barclays as some kind of PPI refund. Thing is, I never even made a claim or checked for PPI. They asked me to call back and speak to someone who sounded like 'Shairnon' on extension 306, from a company called Charge Back. I haven’t called them yet but decided to google both the number and the company first. I couldn’t find anything legit about the company, and the number looks dodgy. A while back I made sure with Barclays myself and they confirmed there was no PPI charge on my account whatsoever. So I’m steering clear of this one.

On the 22nd of June, I got a voicemail saying my husband's PPI claim was successful and a cheque for £2000 was ready, asking me to ring them for details. Being a bit naive, I called back and was told the lady who spoke to my husband would ring me soon. Still waiting on that call now. Is this for real, or is it one of those numbers that rip you off with heavy charges if you dial back?
