6 yearsgot a call on my dad's old landline from someone claiming to be hsbc fraud dept, but my dad passed away last week. when i phoned back from another number, the story changed and they said they were with natwest. what a load of rubbish scammers!HSBCNatWest6 yearsGot a call from someone saying there was fraud on my credit card and telling me to call this number. I checked with my bank afterwards, and it turned out to be a scam.6 yearsJust got a call from 01216931918 earlier, some automated message about a visa transaction. I pressed 2 to get through to someone. When I asked for their number to ring back, the person sounded Asian. Later I rang 02070978784 and the same guy picked up. Pretty obvious scam, trying to figure out how i use my bank online. Hung up immediately and I've blocked the number now.6 yearsToday I got a call from some automated voice saying my debit card was compromised and money was being withdrawn. They said they were from the fraud department and wanted me to call 02070978784. I rang my bank to double check and just like others mentioned, it turned out to be a scam.6 yearsMy elderly father-in-law got a call from this number, with someone calling himself Mr Patrick Wilson saying he was from the fraud department at his bank. He started going on about the bank account being compromised and insisted that my FIL needed to open a new one to move his money across. Luckily, my father-in-law was wise enough to say he’d just visit the branch in person to get it sorted. The bank manager handled it really quickly and professionally. Honestly, avoid answering or sharing anything with this number - it’s definitely a risky scam.Patrick Wilson6 yearsthey claimed to be from the fraud department saying money had been stolen from my bank account! total scam, definitely dont trust them!7 yearsI received a call from someone who identified himself as Mr Rahul Singh, claiming to be from Openreach. He even provided a BT ID number (BT8420W) and said my broadband was running slowly, insisting that he needed to check my connection speed. He proceeded to use Teamviewer to access my computer. After his so-called speed test, he declared that I qualified for compensation due to my sluggish internet speed and mentioned a replacement router. The next part was rather concerning; I was shown what appeared to be my bank's interface, with the title ‘BT Compensation Form-1’ and then ‘BT Compensation Form-2’. It was rather cunningly designed, albeit the web address was dodgy. He then requested that I insert my bank card into a card reader for further processing. I’ve realised this was all a ruse; BT Openreach never operates in this manner, and the bank definitely doesn’t have anything called BT Compensation Forms. To add to my unease, the following day, I kept receiving calls from 02032872228, persistently asking about a router I supposedly ‘ordered’.Rahul SinghOpenreachTeamviewerBT OpenreachSubmit Your Own Report (020 7097 8784)
