I got a call from an 02 number and when I called them out for sounding like a scam, they just cut me off straight away.

Just like the story about the HP printer con, I ended up paying £210 to get a virus fixed on my laptop, thinking it was an official HP service. The problem seemed sorted then, but when I had to ring them back, I couldn’t find their number anywhere. Definitely a dodgy scam. The number we rang was 0207 097 8777.

I was having issues with my HP printer and requested a callback from Hewlett Packard. About an hour later, a guy called Peter rang me from 02070978777. He claimed to be a technician and fixed my printer by remotely accessing my laptop and removing some viruses. Feeling reassured, I ended up paying £310 for what they said was lifetime support. Later, when my printer acted up again, I tried calling that number but it just wouldn’t connect. Looks like I’ve been taken for a ride.
