Was just browsing through a Sainsbury’s flyer on my laptop when everything just froze. Suddenly, I got a loud voice telling me my computer was infected with a virus, with some Microsoft-style background screen. The phone number they gave as the "Microsoft support" actually connects you to some bloke who tries convincing you to open a dialogue box, so he can get full access to your computer stuff. Proper nasty scam that could easily trick older or less tech-savvy folks. Stay well clear!

My dad got tricked by a dodgy scam pop-up on his laptop saying he had to ring a certain number to stop his computer from getting worse. He phoned them without knowing it was a con. They lied about fake bugs and issues with his network, trying to scare him into paying £300. They even managed to control his screen remotely. Please, don't ever call that number and warn your older or less tech-savvy relatives not to fall for this!

I just wanted to warn everyone that I spoke to someone claiming to be from Microsoft, but it turned out to be a scam. Best thing to do is disconnect your internet straight away, then reboot your device. After you’re back online, head to your settings, then security, and make sure everything shows a green tick so your system’s safe. Don’t fall for these tricks!

I kept getting a message saying my computer was locked due to supposed illegal activity, and it told me to ring this number for Microsoft Support. The annoying thing is, the alert keeps popping up even after I tried calling from various international numbers. Whenever I block one 01606 number, they just switch to another one. Really frustrating!

I got a pop-up on my computer with a voice telling me to ring a certain number straight away because my system was supposedly hacked. I thought it was real, so I called. They got access to my PC and spent ages pointing out loads of errors, then asked me to pay £2.99 as a one-time charge. That’s when I twigged it was a con and ended the call. Now I’m struggling to log into my PC. I’ve turned it off hoping that’ll fix things, but I’m pretty anxious about what’s going on.

Foolishly, I let them control my computer remotely and ended up losing about £400. I only saw what was really going on right near the end, after the damage was done.
