Just give them one simple reply and they’ll get fed up, no need to confirm or deny anything. They can't handle it and quit, job done!

They're using an automated dialler with built-in voice recognition. When you pick up, there's a pause while it links you to the Auto Attendant - which actually breaks OfCom regulations. A computer-generated voice will then introduce itself and ask if you've been in an accident that wasn’t your fault. Say no, and it just hangs up; say yes, and you’re pushed deeper into the system until eventually you get through to a real person. It’s basically one of those ambulance chaser claim companies using a database of numbers they've somehow got hold of. Best to steer clear altogether.

Would definitely suggest blocking this number, it's just one of a few linked to a dodgy ambulance chaser. They also use other numbers starting with 0203 and 0208.

I got an answer but they just cut me off, bit of a letdown since I enjoy these calls more when it’s an actual person. There’s a good laugh to be had with real callers. If you manage to catch someone on the line, try saying “Yes, sadly I’ve just passed away,” it messes with their head trying to figure out a response. Or you could ask them how you’re feeling after the crash - that always makes them stumble. Best one I’ve tried is “Hello, we’ve been told you had an accident” and reply “Yes, I’m sueing you, so bring it on.” They never call again after that!
