I rang and after saying hello a few times, nobody answered at all. I stayed on the phone for about 23 seconds but got nothing back, super weird. Dated 31/10/25.

Got a call from an Asian guy claiming to be from Microsoft, saying there was an issue with my PC. I told him I’ve heard all that nonsense before and ended the call. Then he rang me three more times from different numbers, pushing to find out why I’d cut him off. In the end, my husband told him, quite nicely, to buzz off.

Got a call from someone saying they were with Car Phone Warehouse, offering an iPhone 13 for £30 a month. When I asked why they were calling from a firm that’s been gone ages, the person just brushed it off, saying “don’t worry about that”. I didn’t hold back and told them they and their scam crew were beneath even the lowest rubbish. I hung up, but they called back immediately. Not to blow my own trumpet, but I reckon I scored about 11 out of 10 on giving cheek to a scammer.

Got a call on 06/11/2021 around 11:44 from a young woman with an Indian accent who said she was from Carphone Warehouse. When I mentioned how their company pops up everywhere online, she just ended the call straight away.

I received a call from this number, and after greeting them, I was met with the customary silence as they waited for their system to determine who had picked up. I allowed a brief pause before responding again, this time in a rather comical, high-pitched voice. A woman, with a peculiar accent, finally chimed in with a “Hello” and proceeded to mutter something about healthcare, querying, “How are you?” In response, I cheekily told her I was deceased. To my amusement, she replied with a casual, “Great,” before continuing with her scripted lines. Eventually, I couldn't help but interject, “Are you truly paying attention? I just informed you I'm dead, and you say that’s ‘Great’?” Clearly, her script didn’t cover such an unexpected twist, and she promptly ended the call. It may have been a bit juvenile, but it was certainly gratifying to turn the tables on them.
