Got a call from someone claiming to be from Carphone Warehouse, but when I asked for a name, the person refused to tell me. They got quite rude and even a bit aggressive when I said I was cautious about unknown calls. Spent a good 20 minutes listening to their pitch about upgrading to a better iPhone (which is odd since I don’t actually own an iPhone, nor am I a Carphone Warehouse customer). Was waiting on another call, so I just let it drag out to waste their time. Ended up blocking the number. My Samsung already flagged it as a scam anyway.

They said they were calling on behalf of my network, “O2”. The thing is, I’m with Tesco Mobile, which runs on O2’s network, but if it was genuinely from the network they wouldn’t name O2 directly. I said if I wanted a new phone, I’d just pop into a shop. They said there aren’t any shops, but I told them there’s a Currys right near me. Then they asked which Currys it was. Definitely seemed dodgy to me, so I told them straight it smelt like a scam.
