This number called me, but I couldn't get to the phone quick enough and missed the call. Given how many dodgy scam calls I get first thing in the morning, I reckon this was probably one of them.

Got a call from a woman with an Indian accent, sounded like she was in a really loud office or somethin. I just told her I’m on the TPS list and then hung up straight away.

I answered the phone but no one said anything, then the line just went dead. Definitely some automated system trying to get me to talk so they can hang up or something.

Got a call from an Asian lady who already knew my name. She started asking if I watch TV and said she was calling from a big UK firm. I told her I’d never heard of the company before, and then suddenly the call just dropped. Honestly, seems like a scam to me.

I answered the call but there was just silence on the other end, then the line suddenly went dead. Pretty sure it was one of those automated calls just waiting for me to say something so they could hang up.

They've rung me a couple times in the last two days. Today I actually managed to catch them talking but I messed up and dropped the call, then they just cut off. Seemed like the person had an Indian accent.

This bloke with an Indian accent, sounds like he popped out of a time machine or summat. He kept ringing me a few years back, always asking for some Bruce Passmore. Didn’t waste any time, just blocked him straight off.

You can report suspicious calls by texting 7726, which will alert the network providers to potential scam activity. Sadly, the option to file scam reports directly via the police’s ‘Action Fraud’ website has been taken down - probably a cost-cutting move? Maybe raise that issue with your local MP. In the meantime, you can still send screenshots of scam texts by email to the cyber crime team at '[email protected]' besides forwarding details to 7726.

Got a call from a lady speaking with an Indian accent, she asked for me by name and then just ended the call abruptly.

I received a call from this number, and the moment I inquired about who it was, they abruptly disconnected the line! Definitely sounds like a scam to me. I've attempted to return their call before, only to find it linked to some random number. However, this time when I called back, a message claimed it was a government survey about money-saving tips, advising me to press 2 to opt out or 5 to chat with an agent. Quite amusing, really! When I pressed 2, guess what? I was met with the same options all over again! Hilarious and dodgy at the same time. I've now blocked the number without a second thought!

I got a call from 02045688823 earlier and when they asked for my name, I said "I don’t" instead of agreeing. The caller asked again, and I repeated myself. Then they just hung up. Curious, I rang the number back to check if it was legit and ended up getting some weird robotic voice on the line. Definitely feels like a dodgy scam call. Whoever it was, they’re just trying to rip people off. I hung up straightaway and blocked the number.

The CallGuard app on my phone seems to have put off this caller. I guess the scammer's system thinks it's just an answerphone, so they don’t bother trying to scam.

I got a missed call from an unknown 020456888 number but there was no voicemail or anything on my answer phone. This week alone, I’ve answered like five calls from different numbers starting with 020456888. I’m pretty sure it’s some sort of scam, so I'm just ignoring them now.

I usually screen any call from numbers I don’t know using my answerphone, since I’ve had loads of scam calls before. Legit people tend to leave a message but dodgy ones just cut off. This time, the caller disconnected when it went to answerphone. After checking this site and reading others’ experiences, I’m pretty sure it was just another scam.

This bloke, who used to say his name was Ben but now goes by Patrick, rings up pretending to be some local energy consultant. Total scam! They record your chat without asking you first. You'll notice a faint beep right at the beginning of the call, that's how you know it's dodgy. I tried flagging him to the fraud team but they just ignored it. Proper frustrating.
