I had a rather courteous chap on the phone discussing loft insulation. However, when I requested he stop droning on from his notes and inquired about the installation date, he abruptly said farewell and hung up. Quite baffling, really!

I received a call from someone purporting to be associated with the Residential Green Standards Centre, claiming to be based in South West London. They were offering a complimentary survey of my loft to evaluate the insulation. The conversation revolved around some rather dubious claims regarding damp issues and mould adversely affecting insulation performance, leading to condensation problems. Quite the tale! However, when I probed for further details about his organisation-whether it was a governmental body, a charitable institution, or a private company-he became rather evasive. He insisted that I ought to be familiar with them from media outlets like the BBC and the Daily Telegraph, but that doesn't really register with me. He couldn’t provide clarity on when the existing insulation was put in or whether any alterations had been made to the roof, and he even inquired about my age! I made it clear that I wasn’t about to share any personal details until he addressed my perfectly reasonable queries. After a polite exchange, he thanked me for my time and abruptly ended the call. It’s disheartening to see such tactics-it’s both infuriating and quite pathetic. Clearly, a bungled attempt at a scam.

I’ve had this number ringing me nonstop but I never pick up. They never leave any voicemail either, so I’m guessing it’s just some sort of scam.

Got a call from someone claiming to be a government advisor about home insulation in the area, but they had no clue where we actually live. Felt pretty dodgy, like some sort of scam.

My BT phone automatically blocked it, which was a relief.

We've had calls from these folks in the past, and each time we've told them not to ring again. They keep saying it's about energy and insulation stuff.

They never left a voicemail, just ended the call straight away. Felt a bit dodgy so I decided to block the number.

The place really feels drafty, must be because the insulation isn’t up to scratch - energy just seems to be slipping right out.

i got a call from someone saying they work with government programs for loft insulation. not sure if it’s just a sales pitch or if there’s something dodgy behind it. i’ve also received similar calls before, so it’s starting to get suspicious.

I've been inundated with nuisance calls regarding loft insulation. Now, I've made it a rule to ignore any unknown numbers until I've had a chance to verify them through this website. There was a moment (rather foolishly) when we did pick up on one of the calls- they promised to provide us with a quote, which I found rather appealing. However, when it came to scheduling an appointment, they quickly transformed into pushy salespeople. They insisted that both my partner and I free up a whole hour to “discuss the matter.” It’s typical of these shady operators, and I had a strong sense it wouldn't merely be an hour, but rather several hours before we'd be manoeuvred into signing something. Naturally, I flat-out declined-it's absurd to surrender two hours of our time for a ruddy loft insulation quote that a proper tradesperson could sort out in ten minutes! So, I strongly advise against entertaining this number.

I received a phone call from someone named "Alex" representing the Medical Alert Centre, who mentioned that I might qualify for a medical alert pendant. He inquired if I was over 50, and upon my response of "no," he courteously ended the conversation. This marks the fifth time in a week that I've been contacted in a similar manner. Each time I block the number, yet they miraculously seem to find a new one to reach me. Today was the first occasion I replied with "no." I guess we’ll have to wait and see if the calls finally cease. It’s becoming quite tiresome!
