A really polite bloke called about loft insulation. I asked him to stop sounding like he was just reading off a sheet and wanted to know when exactly my insulation got put in. He just said bye and hung up on me.

This bloke said he was ringing from the Residential Green Standards Centre in SW London. He offered a free loft survey to check insulation, but started spouting nonsense about damp and mould messing with insulation efficiency and causing condensation. When I asked about who he actually worked for - whether it was some government agency, a charity, or a private company - he just wouldn’t answer. Claimed I should’ve heard of them on the BBC or in the Daily Telegraph, but I’ve never come across them before. Couldn’t say when my current insulation was put in, and asked odd questions about whether my roof had been changed and how old I was. I told him I wasn’t giving out personal info until he answered my basic questions. After that, I politely thanked him and hung up. It’s frustrating and honestly a bit upsetting - seems like a rubbish scam to me.

I’ve had this number ringing me nonstop but I never pick up. They never leave any voicemail either, so I’m guessing it’s just some sort of scam.

Got a call from someone claiming to be a government advisor about home insulation in the area, but they had no clue where we actually live. Felt pretty dodgy, like some sort of scam.

My BT phone automatically blocked it, which was a relief.

They rang me but didn't bother to leave any message on the voicemail.

We've had calls from these folks in the past, and each time we've told them not to ring again. They keep saying it's about energy and insulation stuff.

They never left a voicemail, just ended the call straight away. Felt a bit dodgy so I decided to block the number.

The place really feels drafty, must be because the insulation isn’t up to scratch - energy just seems to be slipping right out.

i got a call from someone saying they work with government programs for loft insulation. not sure if it’s just a sales pitch or if there’s something dodgy behind it. i’ve also received similar calls before, so it’s starting to get suspicious.

Got a call from someone saying they were an energy advisor for the area, talking about loft insulation. Felt a bit iffy about it.

Lately, I've been bombarded with calls about loft insulation and now I just ignore any unknown numbers until I check this website first. We actually answered one call (not wise) and they offered to give us a quote, which sounded fair enough. But when it came to setting up a meeting, they turned into proper pushy salespeople, demanding that both me and my partner block out a whole hour to “discuss things.” This is classic dodgy sales tactics - it wouldn't have stopped at an hour either, more like hours, until they got us to sign something. I told them no way, I’m not wasting two hours chatting about a loft job that a decent tradesman could price up in ten minutes flat. Just don't bother dealing with this number.

This number rang me up and some bloke called Alex from a Medical Alert Centre was telling me I might qualify for a medical alert pendant. He asked if I was over 50 and when I said no, he just ended the call quite nicely. I’ve had the same kind of call about five times this week. I keep blocking the number but they switch it and call again. Today was the first time I said no straight away, so let’s see if they leave me alone now. Honestly, I’m getting a bit sick of it all!
