02045204931 Summary (Read all comments)

Phone number ☎️ 02045204931 👆 is reported as a persistent scam involving calls from various spoofed UK numbers, often claiming to offer refunds related to washing machine warranties or home appliance insurances. Callers frequently have foreign accents and use high-pressure tactics to obtain personal and banking information. The calls commonly feature poor English, call centre background noise, and sometimes silence. Despite recognising the calls as fraudulent, many report that the scammers have accurate personal details, raising concerns about data security. Victims are urged not to share any financial information, to block the numbers, and to report incidents to Action Fraud and the police. It is also advised to contact MPs to push for technological measures to curb such scams, as blocking numbers alone is ineffective against spoofing and automated calls.

I got a call from 020 4520 5931 and when I tried ringing back, it just said the number’s no longer working. Pretty sure it’s one of those scam calls.

They said they were gonna refund me £114 for overpaying but wouldn't share any bank info. Then got told to speak to a “supervisor” who contradicted them and said they'd provide the bank details no problem. I ended up saying if they wanted their money back, to just post me a cheque since they had my address. In the end, they actually did send it. Just a heads up, watch out for this kinda thing.

For the past couple of weeks, I’ve been getting calls off numbers like 02045204929, 02045204931, and 0204504932. They keep saying they want to give me a refund for a washing machine warranty but I’ve never had one. Really annoying, and I don’t even own a warranty like that!

Seems like I got hit with yet another dodgy phone call. A lot of folks are mentioning it’s part of some scam ring. This time it was supposedly from a 'Home Care' firm!

Got a call from someone with an Asian accent trying to scam me by saying I was owed £119 for a washing machine warranty I don't even have. They wanted to know if I'd prefer a cheque or a BACS transfer. So I told them to jot the amount on loo roll and wipe themselves with it, then I blocked the number straight away. Honestly, when is the government gonna step in and stop these annoying cold calls?

I've been getting quite a few calls lately from numbers beginning with 0204. When I pick up, sometimes there's nothing but silence, and other times it's some dodgy person reading off a rubbish script. Pretty suspicious if you ask me.

I got a call about being overcharged for a washing machine and needing a refund. I told them I don’t have an email, but she kept going on (with a strong foreign accent) about sending me some documents. When I said again we didn’t have one, she just ended the call. They rang me twice in a row, on the 22nd and 23rd of March.

Someone phoned me claiming I was due a refund for a washing machine warranty I supposedly bought back in 2021. They knew my full name, address and even my postcode, and said they were from a company called Domestic and General. I haven't actually bought a washing machine in a long time, so I figured right away it was a scam trying to get my bank info.

This morning at precisely 8:03, I received a rather dubious call from a so-called home care service. The individual claimed that they had overcharged me by £190 and that they needed to issue a refund. He queried my name and then insisted that to process the cheque, I would have to provide my IBAN - the International Bank Account Number - which essentially reveals all the particulars of my bank account, including the sort code and account number. Thankfully, I had the presence of mind to request he call me back in half an hour. That gave me a moment to investigate the number he called from. What a con! I urge everyone to exercise caution; your IBAN holds sensitive information about your finances. Cheers for sharing this warning!

02045204931 15:02 2022 03 22 Con artist alert!
Received a call from an individual with an Indian accent, likely from Birmingham, speaking Punjabi. The line was dreadful - could barely make out what was being said. It seemed like a bold attempt by some trickster to pull a fast one.
A complete charlatan, masquerading as something they clearly aren't - just a bunch of deceivers trying their luck.
The conversation was filled with nonsense and all sorts of rubbish, attempting to weave a web of confusion but ultimately just a bunch of fraudsters.

This marks the fourth dodgy call in just a couple of days, all coming from different phone numbers but annoying enough, they're all calling me Mrs Lincoln - which isn't my name at all. Got a call saying I was owed £119 for a washing machine warranty because of some supposed system glitch. The lady promised to send something in writing but I didn’t give her my email. She did have my postal address though, so she said she’d send confirmation by post. I’m really sceptical about getting anything back - feels like a typical call centre scam to me.

Pretty much the same story here. They called, said they’re from the Home Repairs team and mentioned I was owed a refund of £119. Then I got put through to someone who spoke a bit clearer English and asked for my bank info. When I said to just put the refund back on the account they had, he dodged the question and insisted they needed my card details. I told him that wasn’t right, but he just kept saying it was and then abruptly ended the call. Honestly, it’s gotten to the point where I don’t bother being polite with these lot.

These pests keep ringing up, claiming to be looking for a Mr or Mrs with different last names every time they call, depending on who's picked up the phone. These #### keep ringing our BUSINESS NUMBERS, blocking the line so we can't get through to important calls. It's so frustrating! I really wish they'd just disappear and stop wasting everyone's time with their scams. Proper annoying.

02045204931 rang me claiming I'd get a refund on a home appliance warranty, but when I started asking questions they just hung up. Seems like one of those dodgy refund scams, really worrying for older or vulnerable folks.

Someone rang me saying they were from a firm named Homecare, claiming I could get a refund on my washing machine insurance. The creepy part was when this woman knew my exact address and postcode. I told her I had my own insurance, so I asked where she got the details from. Right after that, she just cut the call.

Got a call from a home repair number, 02045204931, saying I'd been charged too much on a washing machine and they wanted to give me back about £119. When I asked which washing machine they were talking about, they named a different brand. Then they said they must’ve got the wrong number. Sounds like they were just fishing for my bank info.

I received a call from someone claiming to represent Home Care, stating that they had overcharged us and were offering a refund of £190. However, when they requested our bank details, it raised a huge red flag for us, feeling quite dubious about the whole situation.
