Got a call from someone about home improvements. At first, they asked for the name, so I told them the owner wasn’t here anymore. Then they wanted to know if I was the house owner, and I jokingly said I was the burglar. They just said thanks for answering and then ended the call.

Got a call from a lady who sounded Asian and there was that typical call centre buzz in the back, so I knew straight away it was a scam. She began with some spiel about grants for insulation or heating improvements. I told her “You’re through to Action Fraud, all calls are recorded for your protection, how can I assist you?” She didn’t seem to get it and just carried on with her spiel. I had to say it again before she finally hung up. After that, I blocked the number straight away.

They wanted to do a free loft insulation survey, supposedly for home owners aged 40 to 79. Seemed dodgy right from the start. When I hinted it might be a scam, the person just brushed it off and wouldn’t come clean. Definitely not legit in my opinion.
