Be careful with these calls - they say they're from Carphone but it’s actually some scam place in India. Don’t let them get into your computer, it’s risky. I found it helps to keep them on the line forever, just keep chatting away. Tell them you want an iPhone or something. The more you drag it out, the less chance they waste time trying to scam someone else for real.

There was a weird pause after I answered before anyone spoke, kinda like those dodgy boiler repair scams. When the voice finally came through, she asked, "May I ask who's calling?" I shot back, "And who exactly are you?" Then she just hung up. Honestly, I reckon this is a scam call.

So, this number 0204 tried ringing me yesterday. Seemed like a call centre and I don’t think it was even from the UK. They never said who they were and then just cut the call. Tried again today but the ring was really short. Funny thing is, my phone said it was from London but the number doesn’t quite look like it. Bit fishy if you ask me.

I received a call from a lad with an Indian accent, who introduced himself as 'John' and claimed to be representing The Carphone Warehouse. It was pretty evident that it was a scam. I decided to engage him a bit, saying, "Funny you should mention Carphone Warehouse, as I happen to be a senior manager at DSG (the parent company of Carphone Warehouse). To be honest, I'm not aware of any promotions going on... Seems like you might be trying to trick unsuspecting folks, John..." Before I could even finish, he hung up faster than a flash!

I ended up chatting with him for about ten minutes, during which he babbled on about how he could upgrade my phone if only I’d provide my bank details. I shot back at him, asking what his commission was for trying to con me and suggested that if he hoped to pull off such tricks, he really ought to refine his approach to customer service. He just hung up on me after that!
