Be careful with these calls - they say they're from Carphone but it’s actually some scam place in India. Don’t let them get into your computer, it’s risky. I found it helps to keep them on the line forever, just keep chatting away. Tell them you want an iPhone or something. The more you drag it out, the less chance they waste time trying to scam someone else for real.

There was a weird pause after I answered before anyone spoke, kinda like those dodgy boiler repair scams. When the voice finally came through, she asked, "May I ask who's calling?" I shot back, "And who exactly are you?" Then she just hung up. Honestly, I reckon this is a scam call.

So, this number 0204 tried ringing me yesterday. Seemed like a call centre and I don’t think it was even from the UK. They never said who they were and then just cut the call. Tried again today but the ring was really short. Funny thing is, my phone said it was from London but the number doesn’t quite look like it. Bit fishy if you ask me.

Got a call from some bloke with an Indian accent, giving his name as John, saying he was ringing from The Carphone Warehouse. Pretty clear it was a con. I told him, "John, funny you should say that, as I actually work as a senior manager at DSG, the company that runs Carphone Warehouse. Never heard of any offers like that...sounds like you're trying to take advantage of people, mate." Didn't take long for the line to cut off, quicker than you'd expect!

Got a call from an Essex number and when I picked up, there was just silence on the other end. After a couple of seconds of quiet, they just hung up. Strange!

Some guy called saying he was with Carphone Warehouse. I let him talk for about ten minutes, claiming he could upgrade my phone but needed my bank info first. I asked him straight up how much they pay scammers like him, and told him if he wanted to pull this off he’d need to be better at dealing with customers. Then he just ended the call.
