I never bother leaving a voicemail cause as soon as I block one number, another one from the same place rings through. It’s proper annoying and feels like harassment.

Not with 02 here. Seems like more dodgy calls from London, like we don’t already get enough nonsense from number 10!

Some bloke said he was from O2, ringing me up with a special offer since I’m supposedly an O2 customer. Thing is, I’m not even with O2, so I just told him he was talking nonsense and ended the call.

It seems I've been contacted by someone claiming to be from O2, boasting about a staggering 40% reduction on my existing O2 plan-only trouble is, I don’t even have an account with them! How bizarre is that?

Got a call from “O2” saying I owe money, but it’s just one of those scam call centres trying to rip you off.

Someone kept claiming to be from O2. I was driving and using hands free, so I told them if they really were from O2, they’d know what kind of plan I already have. He asked if it was pay-as-you-go or contract, which seemed dodgy since O2 would already have that info.

Definitely a spam call, best to steer clear.

They act like they’re from 02 and say you can get a 40% discount on your bills. Then they send a code to your phone to ‘log in’ to your account. It’s a scam, don’t fall for it. Just block and report them straight away.

Total scammers. They keep ringin me up sayin I got some kind of discount from my phone company but they have no clue who my provider even is.

Just like some others, he was talking about a "40% discount with zero charges to me". I told him it seemed dodgy since I’m not an O2 customer. After that, he started cursing at me.

I don't normally pick up unknown numbers but I was waiting for a call. Some bloke called 'Michael', said he was from 02 and because I was apparently a customer, I could join their free giveaway. I told him I wasn't with 02 and asked to take my number off their list. He then said I was on their records as an 02 customer and just hung up on me. Blocked straight away!

Claimed to be from O2. When I asked why since he wasn’t ringing from an O2 number (it showed a different provider), he said he just wanted to hear my voice 🙄 I ended the call, then they called straight back. I picked up and he asked why I’d cut the call, saying I’ve got a lovely voice. Hung up again and BLOCKED. Seriously, BLOCK IF YOU’RE ABLE!!!

Got a call from 02039408867 offering a 40% discount which seemed a bit fishy So i looked it up They sent me a couple of anti fraud texts while we were talking Then i got another message with some 6 digit code The person on the phone was really pushy which made me suspicious Pretty clever scam and could easily fool someone not paying attention

Got a call and texts all at once claiming to be from O2. The caller was trying to sell me a “40% off discount” on my current contract. Smells like a scam to me.

like stated before this is a con artist posing as someone from O2. they claim to give 40% off your bill but will ask for a code. REMEMBER: O2 would never ask for a code like this and you should never give out any codes you get to others.

I never pick up calls from unknown numbers, always check this site first. No voicemail was left, so defo not legit. Watch out, this looks like a scam call.

Got a call saying it was from O2, claiming I was a loyal customer and could get 40% off my bill. They sent a code from an O2 UK number and asked me to say the security code out loud. Don’t ever do that! I usually spot these scams but got caught out this time. Thankfully, no purchases had been made on my account, so I changed my password and logged out everywhere straight away. O2 were really helpful and talked me through what to do next.

Got a few calls from this number recently. The bloke sounded like he had a strong Indian accent. He claimed he was from O2 and was offering 50% off. When I asked how he didn’t know my O2 contract was finished, he just ended the call straight away. Definitely a dodgy one. Blocked.

This number, 02039408867, has rung me about once every month since September. I don’t have it saved so I just let it go to voicemail, figured it was probably a scam. Reading other comments here makes me think I was right.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from o2, but it was definitely a scam. They started off okay but then got really pushy and even threatened they knew where I lived. They were trying to trick me into giving them a code that o2 sends by text. Proper dodgy.

This bloke said he was from 02, I told him he wasn’t. Then he started going off, saying he’d ‘f#### my wife and mum’ and all that nonsense. I gave it right back to him. He then said he’d send his brother over to ‘f#### me’ and promised to ring again later ‘cos he’s got my address. Watch out people - absolute nasty, creepy, threatening muppets!

Someone saying they’re from O2 called, claiming I’m eligible for a big discount since I pay my bills promptly. Yeah, as if. I told them I wasn’t interested, and they just hung up straight away. Number was from London but sounded like it was from a call centre abroad. Another scammer blocked.

Got a call from an Indian man claiming I was a loyal O2 customer who always pays bills on time, and since they’d lost loads of customers because of COVID, I qualified for a 40% discount. After that, I got a text with a security code that looked exactly like legit O2 messages I’ve had before - definitely could trick people. But it didn’t feel quite right, so I ended the call without giving him the number. Just to be safe, I logged into my O2 account afterwards and changed my password. I’ve seen a few others mentioning the same scam on the O2 community forum too.

Right, here’s how I reckon the scam goes down: Scammer gets your number, then rings you up. After that, they put your number into the O2 account recovery page. O2 sends a legit text to your phone. The scammer then claims they've sent it to you and asks you to confirm the code. You give it to them (only if you’re daft, drunk, or both). Then they punch the code into O2’s site and boom - your account’s theirs.

I received a call from someone purporting to be with O2, attempting to entice me with various upgrades and deals for my account. I promptly informed him that I don’t actually have an O2 account, and without skipping a beat, he hung up on me. Quite the dodgy move, if you ask me!

Some bloke called claiming to be from O2, insisting I give him my security number to access my account. He sounded really unprofessional and had a thick Indian accent. When I refused to share any security details, he just told me to f### off, so I shot back the same way. Honestly, he’s got a lot to learn if he wants to be good at scamming.

Somebody rang saying they were from O2, offering a 40% cut on my bill. After I hung up, I got a text that looked like it was from O2 UK, but the spacing was off - they had a space between the 2 and U, not the usual O2UK. I freaked and deleted the chat, then blocked the number. Looking back, I really should’ve forwarded it to 7726. Pretty clear it was a SCAM.

Got a call from a bloke with a heavy Indian accent claiming to be from O2, tried to hack into my O2 account. Sounded proper dodgy ‘cause he kept ending his sentences with “yeah” like seeking approval. I just hung up, but then the cheeky sod rings back, thinking I was falling for it. Told him bluntly he’s got a long way to go if he wants to be any good at scamming.

Someone said they were from BT offering 40% off my bill cause of Covid. During the call, I got two texts with a one-time code. They told me an email would come tomorrow to get the discount. But when I looked up on O2's fraud info, it said they never ask for one-time codes, passwords, PINs, or bank stuff. Always check who’s calling and if unsure, ring them on 0344 809 0202. I hung up and also reported it to 7726.

Today, I received three calls from this number, and I had also heard from them on the 14th of October. The caller's accent was quite thick, making it rather hard for me to follow what they were saying. However, I did manage to grasp something about a rather dubious offer claiming a 40% discount on my O2 account. At that point, I decided to hang up.

Just like here, total scam and really smart tho cos they send texts pretending to be 02. These messages have some sort of 'code' to unlock your discount or whatever. A bloke called Safy - not convinced that's even his real name - rang me up with a dreadful accent claiming to be from O2. He said because of Covid, I qualified for a 40% loyalty discount since I always pay my bill promptly. Then he mentioned I'd get a security alert text, followed by one with a one-time pin. He was pushy and kept trying to get me to reveal the code. DO NOT GIVE HIM ANY DETAILS! I’ve since gone onto the O2 site and changed my password to something much stronger. I've received two calls from this number in quick succession, just a mere five minutes apart. I hung up on the first one, and upon researching the number, I discovered it’s a dodgy operation, so I reported it to O2. Then, I got a second call from a different chap, but he had a similar accent. I informed him to cease calling me as this was obviously a scam, but he became quite confrontational, insisting he was genuinely part of O2, and asked what evidence I had to prove the contrary! I ended up cutting that call short too. This number is definitely being added to my lengthy list of blocked contacts!

This afternoon I got bombarded with calls from someone pretending to be O2 - they rang me 16 times in total! I told one of their reps straight up that I wouldn’t be giving out any answers to security questions, yet they still hit me with 13 more calls after that. Got a call from someone saying they were O2. They did know a bit about me, but it was clearly a random call out of the blue. The person tried to get me to answer security questions and kept coming up with reasons why they couldn’t just email me instead. They kept insisting it was all legit and safe to trust them. If they were genuine O2, why wouldn’t they just send details about the offer to my account? Pretty sure this was a scam.
