I received a call from 0203 9033 909, and the caller claimed to be from Heating Services, stating that we were eligible for a discount due to not having requested their services in the last eight months. The gentleman, who introduced himself as Michael Holt, requested our bank sort code over the phone. While he appeared reasonably trustworthy, I couldn't shake off a certain unease, especially since he wasn’t forthcoming with a callback number. Terrible connection and sounded like an automated call. When I answered, there was a bit of a delay before someone came on and claimed they were from BT about my internet. I told them this number’s unlikely to be mine, then they just ended the call. Apparently, the number is registered to a company named Ridgeworks.
