Got a call from some woman saying she's with the bank’s security team, saying a transaction was made on my Amazon account. Thing is, I don’t even have an Amazon account, so it felt like she was attempting a scam or something fishy.

It appears I've fallen victim to a rather dodgy boiler insurance scheme. They claimed I hadn’t made a single claim in the past year, which is hardly shocking since I’ve never actually signed up with them in the first place!

Received a call about a boiler deal, they said I was eligible for a discount since I hadn’t reported any issues before. Sounded like a scam to me.

Cheap boiler insurance? Brilliant! Let me just send you my bank account info, mum’s maiden name, a photo of me, plus all my passport and driving licence numbers… sounds totally legit!

I reckon the call I got from 01223631448 was coming straight from some call centre.

Had a call about my boiler maintenance, claiming they could lower my current fees. I asked them to confirm which company I used and the exact cost, but the bloke on the line, who sounded like he was from India, just cut me off rudely. Shame, was hoping they’d start their swear fest again like they did yesterday, that was kinda funny.

You should send a report to 7726, it helps to flag suspicious numbers with the phone companies. Sadly, you can’t report scams straight to the police via the Action Fraud website anymore - they closed that option, probably to save money. If that bothers you, maybe raise it with your MP. We can still send screenshots of scam messages to the cybercrime unit by email at '[email protected]', and don’t forget to forward them to 7726 too.

Got a phone call earlier saying my boiler and heating cover was about to expire. They mentioned since I hadn’t made any claims, I could get a discount. Then they asked for my bank info, but I told them no way and ended the call straight away.

Looks way too good to actually be real, so definitely don’t hand over any bank info. Just cut them off and hang up straight away.

Don't fall for it, it's a classic boiler fraud. They try to tempt you with an amazing offer but really just want your bank info. Complete scam, stay clear!

I just ignored the call, figured it was dodgy, so I’ve added the number to my block list.

Got a call saying my boiler cover was up for renewal and they claimed it would be cheaper by like 35%. Asked if they could have my bank details, told them they must already have it since I’m the one paying for the damn thing! Then they just hung up on me.

So yeah, got called by some boiler scammer the other day. They gave me the name of a company I had never even heard of and certainly not with. Totally dodgy!

Got a call from some boiler cover lot saying my insurance needed an upgrade or something. As soon as i told them I wasn’t with them, they just cut off. Feels like a total scam to get you to switch over thinking you’re just improving your existing cover. Definitely avoid these sorts of calls!

Got a call about our boiler cover being expired, but we know it’s still valid. They were really pushy about it.

Got a call from a woman with a strong foreign accent who claimed to be ringing about a warranty for our boiler. Thing is, we don't even have a boiler - we've got a ground source heat pump instead. Definitely felt like a scam, so I just ended the call and blocked the number.
