I got a call from someone claiming to be from HMRC saying I was going to get arrested over some tax dodging. It was an Indian bloke on the line. When I asked if they could send me something official from HMRC to prove it, he just said, “Oh, so you're running away,” and then he just hung up on me! They knew my business name though, so they definitely looked me up first!

Absolutely, I've had a similar experience. HM Revenue and Customs wouldn't reach out like that or ring you out of the blue to discuss debts or suggest hiring a solicitor. It's clearly dodgy, so best to just block the number!
