Got a dodgy automated call with a really rubbish American accent saying my National Insurance number was being cancelled because of fraud. They told me to ring back to sort it out. I called and ended up speaking to someone with a strong Indian accent and pretty bad English claiming to be from HMRC. Absolutely mad they’re allowed to pull this off!

Just before wrapping up my day, I saw the number 02038969952 pop up. Gotta say thanks to scambusters for mucking them up today. If folks who get calls from these dodgy numbers spend a bit of their unused mobile contract minutes calling them back with an auto redial app, it really throws a spanner in the works. Hung up straight away and blocked the number. Total scam, don’t ever bother calling them back, it’s just a scam.

This bloke phoned up pretending to be from HMRC, saying I owed them £3990 as a deposit to make sure I’d sort my taxes, and promised I’d get it back later. If I didn’t pay within half an hour, apparently the government would take me to court. Then, just after I hung up, another call came from 01208 247951, some woman claiming to be Ramsgate police saying they were on their way to arrest me. She asked if I was at home but didn’t seem to know my address. She told me to keep on the line so she could 'trace the call' and come get me. Proper dodgy.

Watch out for this number! They left a voicemail claiming to be from HM Customs, but when I phoned back, it was a total sham. You wait forever to get through, and then the person on the line speaks in poor English and insists they're from HM Customs, which is clearly not true. Definitely not professional at all.
