It’s one of those dodgy scams where they claim you’ve had an accident. Avoid at all costs! I’ve barred the number, but they just tweak it by a single digit and try again. It’s an endless cycle of blocking and more blocking... Ugh!

This week alone, I’ve been bombarded with ten calls from this number, both on my mobile and my home phone. It’s becoming rather tiresome! Each time, there’s never anyone on the other end - just a robotic voice instructing me to press 1 if I wish to be taken off their list. Of course, it’s utterly futile as that doesn’t seem to do anything. I believe trading standards should really take notice of this annoyance and put a stop to it!

I get calls almost every week from different numbers starting with '020 3896.' Lately, I’ve had a few from '020 3896 9808 / 9804 / 9790 / 9807,' but only since about 13th October. I've blocked each one as soon as they ring. There’s also a bunch of calls from '0330' numbers that never leave a voicemail, so I reckon they’re dodgy too.

They should do something about it because people are so tired of all the unwanted calls. I refuse to pick up calls from numbers I don't recognise. I've decided to block this one as well. It's high time action is taken against these intrusive callers, and surely it's the responsibility of BT or other telecom companies to ensure they're not handing out our numbers like sweets. Don't even try to convince me that they can't trace these scam artists, considering they need a proper address to send out their bills. Folks are utterly fed up with these con men. They need to be shut down, and I'd advocate for hefty penalties to deter them once and for all.

Sounds like those are just scammy ambulance chasers. Never share your details with them. I just ended the call straight away. Usually, I try to be polite, but when people start telling lies over the phone, I don’t see the point.

someone phoned me last night claiming i’d been in a crash, but i said i don’t even drive. then she asked if maybe i was in an accident as a passenger. i said no, never had any accidents, but she kept saying i was due some compensation. i reckon she was gonna ask for my bank info next. do these scammers really think we’re that gullible? this kind of thing should be illegal. they’re absolute lowlifes.

I received a rather bewildering phone call today, claiming that I'd been involved in a car accident within the last two years, which is quite astonishing to me! The person's command of English left much to be desired, and when I inquired about my car insurance details, she was unable to provide any information. It was rather odd that she couldn't even tell me where I supposedly lived. I thought that if one were to initiate a claim, they should have all the pertinent details at hand. To top it all off, she couldn’t even pronounce my surname correctly! Honestly, if I were in the position to file a claim for a car accident, I would certainly be using my own insurance, not someone else's! I found the entire conversation quite uncomfortable, as she seemed to be shouting at me over the phone.

To add to the absurdity, the caller couldn't seem to address any of my queries regarding my address or the supposed incident.
