Just like loads of the other reviews that claim to be from sky or talk talk or virgin media, they appeared to know exactly what deal I had with my provider and then offered me that same deal for £48 less. When I said I'd check with my supplier first, they asked why and then suddenly ended the call.

Got a call from someone looking for a person that doesn't even live here. When I asked them to remove my number, she flat out refused and then went off on one. Told her this was getting into harassment territory since they’d rung me about three times this week alone. She wouldn’t let me get a word in and kept talking over me. I got fed up and told her to be quiet because I was speaking. She just hung up on me after that.

Honestly, it wasn’t annoying at all, actually had a laugh. I gave some random name when they asked before. The guy kept saying he could help me cut my bills with Virgin and Sky but I told him I’ve got both and I’m loaded so saving cash isn’t really a problem for me. He even said sorry for bothering me and then I blocked the number. I’m curious though, do these callers switch their numbers every week or something?

Got a call, said it was Talk Talk trying to convince me to switch my broadband and landline. I told them fake info about my name and DOB, so how on earth did they manage to check my credit? Proper pushy too, saying they’d beat my current deal with an 18 month contract, but in the end it was more expensive than what I’ve already got.

i get calls daily from these 020 numbers, and even tho i keep blocking them, they just keep calling from a new one the next day. they never give up. ive got a call blocker that holds 2000 numbers, but once i hit that limit, ill get the one that can block 5000. you can find them on ebay. so far, ive blocked 104 numbers. its totally worth it for the quiet it gives me.

What a pain! Picked up a call from this number earlier, and some guy started yapping about broadband, asking if I was still with Sky. I told him I left them ages ago. Told him nicely not to ring again, but the daft bloke called straight back and shouted at me over the phone. I hung up and then he tried once more. Sorted him out by blocking the number.

Got a call from a woman with a loud background noise, sounded like a call centre in India, asking for my mum by her first name. I told her she wasn’t home. She didn’t seem to get it and said “she’s not here”. Then she said she'd ring back if there was a problem. I asked who she was but she refused to say. I asked again for a name and where she was calling from. She just said she’d call again if needed. When I repeated the question about where she was calling from, she just hung up.

This is a scam number that keeps ringing my mum over and over. We’re sick of it, but luckily BT Call Protect stops the calls now. Just got one at 12:16 today. It’s really frustrating because my mum’s 93 and likes a bit of lie-in, so these early calls are so rude. She used to return missed calls using 1471, but I’ve had that feature taken off her line, so she can’t accidentally ring the scammers back!

Honestly, I reckon you should just play along with these calls. If you’re on GiffGaff like me, you get unlimited free minutes as long as you keep chatting. Just always pretend they’ve got the wrong number if they ask for someone else, and never give out your address - even if they try, tell ’em they’ve got the wrong details. They’ll keep yakking away, so just keep ’em going for ages. At the end, say something like “Cheers for the free GiffGaff minutes!” and then tell ’em to jog on.

Some bloke keeps ringing my phone asking for a Joel, but that ain’t me. He argues with me, saying I’m making it up. Then he asks if I’m Joel Farqhuar. I said no, and told him to Farqhuar right off!
