I received a call purportedly from Microsoft Office Support. They claimed I had been receiving dodgy emails and even sending them, which honestly baffled me. I asserted that my email was perfectly fine and without issue. Then, the caller insisted that I sit in front of my computer and follow their instructions. I decided to play along, but I didn't actually comply with their requests. 😄 Eventually, I mentioned that I was IT trained and told him outright that he was running a scam. He promptly hung up on me. The number that called was 02038766297. !!BEWARE OF THIS SCAM!!

Got a phone call claiming to be from HMRC, sounded pretty threatening. They said if I didn't ring back, there'd be some kind of "consequences." The voice was an American robotic accent, and they even called themselves "Inland Revenue," which was wrong. It's the first annoying call I've had since lockdown. Honestly, I’m hoping Ofcom cracks down on them and shuts their number down soon. Properly sketchy and just plain harassment.

Don't fall for it, this is definitely a scam. HMRC or the Inland Revenue would never ring you up in this way. I actually chuckled after hearing the voicemail, especially when they said something daft like "or face the legal consequences."

02038966972 is definitely a number to call back. I recommend messing with them by either just wasting their time or using an auto redial app to keep bugging them. These people are proper scammers, working full-time and very sneaky. They’re not to be trusted at all. Don’t let them get away with it - make sure you give them a hard time and stand up against them!
