Got a robo call from someone saying they were officer Janet Wood with HM Revenue and Customs. They warned me about urgent legal stuff and said if I or my solicitor didn’t get back quickly, I’d be in serious trouble. They kept pushing me to call back or else I’d face some heavy legal consequences.

Got a ring from this number earlier and decided to call back. Some guy with an Asian accent picked up, said he was from HMRC about some tax fraud claim linked to the inland revenue and that lawyers were involved. I told him to send me everything in writing instead since I never share personal info on calls 'cause of all the scams. He just cut off straight away after that.

My husband just got a voicemail from someone called 'Janet Woods' claiming to be from HMRC, telling us not to ignore the message or face penalties.
