7 yearsReceived a call claiming to be from a Valuation Agency, stating I was entitled to a council tax rebate. They inquired how long I’ve been living at my address. When I pointed out that they should already have that information if their claim was legitimate, she promptly disconnected the call. Clearly a scam!Valuation Agency7 yearsI've recently encountered what appears to be a right dodgy scam, claiming to help folks secure a Council Tax rebate by downgrading their band to a cheaper one. They often assert they’re representing numerous properties in your postcode, which sounds rather suspicious, if you ask me. They go on to demand an upfront payment of £180 before they send any paperwork to the rating authority. When you push back, they refer to themselves as Affinity Legal and even provide a UK Company Number, 10364936, which, from what I've gathered, doesn't actually relate to Affinity Legal at all. Just a heads up: the callback number they use is 08081687888. Best to steer clear if you ask me!Affinity7 yearsI suspect it’s a bit dodgy, considering I'm currently unemployed and not even managing to pay my full council tax.7 yearsI've been informed that I've been paying too much council tax for quite some time, but I find that hard to believe. Could this be an attempt to fish for my bank details? It feels rather dodgy to me.Submit Your Own Report (020 3887 7103)
