I received a call claiming to be from George at O2. When I inquired about the purpose of his call, he mentioned it was related to complaints concerning their signal quality. However, when I pressed him further for details on why he was contacting me, he abruptly disconnected the call. Just for the record, I'm not even a customer of O2!

Someone rang saying they were from O2 wanting to upgrade my contract. They asked if I wanted to take a better deal since I’m a loyal O2 customer… but I’m not even with O2. When I told them it was a scam, they just laughed and asked how I knew. If they were really O2, surely they’d know I’m not one of their customers.

It was a pretty quiet call, so I didn’t quite get the name of the company before I put it on speaker, but it seemed like they said ‘phone line’ or something similar. They mentioned some sort of deal on mobile phones and asked what model I was using now. Felt a bit dodgy since they were just ringing out of the blue and asking for info, so I just ended the call.

Somebody rang claiming to be from o2 saying they were running a survey on call quality. Then they told me since I'm a loyal customer, they’d give me 30% off my next bill and that they’d connect me to the promotions team. I felt a bit iffy since o2 usually don’t ring me from a London number, and I’ve never been passed to a promotions dept before. So while he was still chatting, I searched the number online and saw loads of people saying it’s a scam. I ended the call straight away and then got another call back from a Manchester number, which I just ignored.

020 3883 0694 London, England Just got a call from this number, a young bloke trying to sell me an extended warranty for my washing machine. I told him I was a bit worried and asked if it was free. He said no. So I asked how much, feeling uneasy since they phoned me out of the blue. He started talking some nonsense about the situation. When I told him I was shocked they were calling since I only bought the machine 3 weeks ago, he suddenly wanted to end the call quick. I Didn’t pick up but this is my 15th call from different numbers all ending the same way - annoying and kinda worrying too. The only thing I’ve done lately is handing out my number at bars and restaurants for track and trace. Before doing that, I never got calls like these. So I’m thinking maybe someone who works at these places is selling the numbers to scammers who then try to pull off fraud. My advice? Try to remember where you’ve been before getting these calls and report those venues to the police, especially if you gave them your number or used track and trace there.
