Someone phoned me pretending to be from o2, saying my sim contracts were about to be cancelled. I told them to just send me an email and I’d get back through my official o2 account. They asked for my email at that point, but I said no and ended the call. Since then I’ve had five more missed calls from the same number today but still no email. They've been blocked now.

Got a call from some event planning company trying to book hotel rooms for some event we’re not even involved in. The bloke wasn’t a native English speaker, so it was tricky to get what he was saying. I’m pretty sure he’ll ring back again :/

I got a call from Trade Event Planners, who apparently gather contact details from trade event websites. They tried telling me they could hook me up with cheaper hotel rooms than the event’s official organisers. When I said I wasn’t interested, they just wouldn’t drop it. In the end, I had to be quite blunt and a bit harsh to make them stop ringing. I've now informed the event organisers that they’re fishing for numbers on their site.
