I informed him that I don’t partake in wine as I really can’t stomach it. He responded, somewhat incredulously, that he didn’t drink wine either, but that was beside the point! What he was after was a figure on how much I could comfortably plough into the venture. Not one to play along, I dodged his questions, which sent him into a bit of a tizzy; he huffed that my reluctance was eating into his precious time and finances! He had my name and address, which set off alarm bells for me.
