That was awful! For a moment, I nearly fell for it. They told me I’d dodged taxes and done fraud, saying there was a warrant out for me. Then they wanted me to send a picture of myself holding my bank card to “prove” I’d pay them. They were asking for £2300! Luckily, I sussed out it was a scam when they gave an email, which I looked up online and found loads of warnings like this. Seriously, it’s risky - don’t give these people any details.

Don't waste your time, this is definitely a scam. Best to just steer clear of it completely.

Had a really annoying call, so I decided to ring them back. To my surprise, there was zero security or ID verification when I returned the call. No automated system, no waiting queue, nothing like what you’d normally expect from contacting HMRC. Definitely felt off.

My mate got the same call this morning. When asked about it, they were told it was a scam, and the person on the other end just hung up straight away.

this number rang me up saying it was from HMRC. never even asked to verify who i was or any personal details. then started chatting about court stuff and suggested i need a lawyer. feels dodgy, like it's not real at all.
